Subject: I heard one of the Republican analysts on CNN saying that Palin was 100% McCain's doing and his handlers & Republican leaders were quite upset about it. They were pushing for Pawlenty or Romeny but McCain panicked when he saw how well the Dem convention was coming off, and he ran out and grabbed something in a skirt to try to entice some of the Hillary voters. This choice is very likely to backfire big time. I think she's going to cost him as many votes as she attracts. ~i&b

Subject: One of the pundits last night was speculating that she was brought on board so quietly (and seemingly with the decision being made at the very last minute) that he doubted she's been veted (sp?) appropriately, and that McCain & the general public are going to *learn* about her together. Also that her efforts to empathize with the 'Hilary voters' may well bring Hilary back in a stronger way to campaign for Obama.eom/faysie

Subject: It already has. She's not polling well with women voters. Only 9% of Democratic women voters say her being on the ticket makes them more likely to vote for McCain. And 15% say they are less likely. Gee, women not flocking to a woman candidate just because of her gender, how shocking. - dbrv
