Topic: I can walk!!

Topic Posted by: rushlan
Date Posted: Tue Jul 1 21:33:05 2008
Additional Comments: Finally I get to walk without the aid of a boot.  My foot is in a tennis shoe.  It looks so nice, though it does ache a bit. LOL.  This has been a very long 8 weeks.  Now for physical therapy, which starts on Thursday.  Thanks to everyone for all your well wishes along the way.

That's super, rushland. I know your foot feels so much lighter with the shoe and you're more mobile now. I'm still in the first leg of recovery from my surgery (which I had last Thursday) and have at least six more weeks to go.

  • Thanks Peaches. I hope your recovery goes well too. I did everything the doctor said to do, and that is the best advice I can give you. rushlan

Hooray! She's up, she's out and about!

Be careful around the cats.  Mine was always behind me if I was in the kitchen.  At other times he was always laying in a doorway.

Please come back and tell us what the therapy is like.

  • Serialmom you are so right about the cats. Seems that Roux is forever trying to kill me. He was totally enamored with the boot and constantly near it. rushlan

In the middle of wading through all of these boxes, I wanted to pop in and say YAY! Finally, huh? It did seem to go by fast, but then again, I'm not the one who broke my foot, LOL. I'm sure for you, it seemed like an eternity. But now......90o<----(argh - sorry - Petey did that when he jumped on my keyboard! Little rascal!)...anyway, but now, you're almost 100%! CONGRATULATIONS!

  • Thanks DebS. Petey was just trying to say hi too. That's so cute. How are things going with unpacking? rushlan
  • Ugh, I feel like i will never finish unpacking! This is a lot more overwhelming than I thought it would be. But hopefully it'll be over soon. Petey DID want to say hi, LOL!...............DebS

    Yah, indeed!!

Now, do the therapy and stick to it for as long as is needed and even after the 'in house' therapy ask if you should continue.

I did the therapy and no one told me to continue and now I must go back for more.  Bummer.

    BUT, good for you!  ;>)

    Replies: (list all replies)

  • That's too bad you have to go back for more, but you know this time to contiue. Thanks for the tip. rushlan
