Additional Comments:
I would not be likely to see a cartoon film but the reviews are irresistable so I will.
While reading the promo this tidbit of information stunned me.
Think the movie's shots of a trashed Earth are pure science fiction? Maybe not. Imagine filling an entire football field six feet deep in trash. Okay, now, fill 81,999 more. Sound hard? The United States does it every year. That's just 4% of the world's population. Better get to work, WALL-E.More about WALL-E on Yahoo! Movies

Message: Unfortunately, the main reason for the increase in tough plastic bubble packaging has mostly to do with shoplifting. Manufacturers have had to create a larger, more impenetrable "presence" for small, more easily stolen items in order to foil shoplifters. Think about how things are now secured into their boxes with an elaborate web of twist-ties and sometimes even screws, all to discourage thieves. Of course, as we import even more and more merchandise from overseas, those hard plastic bubble packs also cushion things during shipping.
It used to be that disposable diapers were a huge problem in landfills, and now it is the explosion of plastic water bottles. They are everywhere! At our house, we use Sigg coated aluminum bottles and reuse them over and over--they are dishwasher-safe and no chemicals leach out into the water, as happens with water bottled in plastic. We have a reverse-osmosis filter to clean our water.

I think its a crime the way stuff comes packaged anymore. I mean, come on! There has to be a better way. I'm so dismayed at all the trash we create, just our family. AND we recycle. A LOT. Junk mail, newspapers, cans, bottles...glass. All go in our recycling bins. And we still have too much other. Its the 'other' that makes me so angry. But, what can I do? I don't want the stuff in my house....
Yeah, it used to be a stretch about garbage filling up the earth...but we keep it up and we'll have to be moving to Mars.

Message: Serialmom I'm stunned every time I look at my trash or go to the trash bin [which is always over-flowing]. I'm especially dismayed by all the packaging that comes with anything you buy these days. We can thank FEAR for that. The packaging industry probably got on board with that when those first cyanide poisonings happened...which I think started it all [?]. Do they have all these "safe-guards" in other countries? If this keeps up we'll have to move out and let the garbage live here!
