Additional Comments: not much has changed. We are still enveloped in smoke. This is just ruining our summer. We spent hours installing an above ground pool and now we can't even use it. I wonder how this is going to play out. I feel so badly for the people who have lost their homes, are losing their homes, have family members out fighting these fires. It is just awful. So much for sunny and wonderful California.
This may sound stupid, and I don't know how bad it is where you are, but couldn't you still use the pool if you swim totally underwater? I know you couldn't sunbathe or anything, but a quick dip in the pool for a few minutes might be refreshing, and then run back in.
But as I said I don't know what it's like. I would LIKE to see more on CNN but as we concurred, they pick a few stories and go ON AND ON about it. That's okay if there is a big thing going on, but that seems to be there MO lately. Nothing but long news coverages about "pregnancy pacts" or Obama versus Hilary stuff that had little to do with the campaign itself. Honestly, they should save it for the blogs and online message boards more and at least brief us on the news once every hour.
