So Jesse Jackson didn't think the mike was on? In the studio of Fox ''fair and balanced'' News? Not smart! And Fox caught him red-handed, and ran with it! But that being said, why would he say something so vile (''I wanna cut his n#@ts off'') about Obama?

I think this will probably jinx his chances of having a high profile role at the convention as well.

As surprised as many people may be by Jesse's remarks, I think it's good that he's inadvertently revealed his true feelings.   If I were Barack though, I'd be taking a long hard look at Jesse Jr.'s role in my campaign.  It's just hard to believe that *he* didn't know how his father really feels about Barack, or that Jesse Sr. hasn't been privvy to a lot of info that he shouldn't have been (through his son's campaign involvement.)

Somewhere along the line, (and maybe it's still not too late), Jesse Jr. and Barack should have a conversation along the lines of:  "In recognition of the fact that my father feels that he'd like to cut your b*lls off, I hereby resign from the campaign, in order to avoid appearing like a wolf in sheep's clothing, or otherwise aiding and abetting the wolf whose name I share."

  • I doubt Jesse, Sr. would have had much of a role in the convention anyway. He hasn't been a major player in some time now. Jesse, Jr., on the other hand, is up and coming so I would expect him to have more visibility at the convention than his father. Also, I don't see where Jesse, Sr.'s remarks have anything to do with Jesse, Jr. Why should Jr. resign? He's not the one who made those remarks and he's obviously quite embarrassed (and probably pissed off as well) at his father. And if you read Jr.'s statement, he said his father's remarks should have been reserved for private conversation and not with a member of the media. Jr.'s done nothing wrong here. ~i&b
  • Let's just see what happens next.

Jesse has a history of sticking his foot in his mouth.  This is not the first time he's said something egregious.  I agree with Duffy, on some level Jackson must be envious of Obama's success as a candidate.

  • Oh ingy! Jesse would love it that you used the word egregious! Now if only you could help him think of a word that rhymes with it! -cook
  • I've got one! (Make that two) As in,
  • I pray that we will be able to get over the resentment that has BESEIGED US!

Perhaps jealousy?  Jackson's try for the presidency failed so maybe that could be a reason.

I was wondering what that was about! I flew to VA today for business and was watching the news in the airport, but there was no sound.

Why does he do these things anyway? He spends more time hurting his image than he does doing any good for the African American community.
