Topic: Victoria's problem is jealousy

Additional Comments:

Anyone else who thinks the main problem Victoria has with Sabrina is that she's JEALOUS of her?  If Sabrina was not young and gorgeous and, supposedly, talented, would Victoria be so bent out of shape about her marriage to Victor?  I doubt it.

Also, Sabrina gets tons of attention now by the press and other people in the town, like Katherine, who like her.  This grates on Vicki's nerves.  She sees Sabrina with the clothes and in the fancy house she used to live in and getting all of Victor's time, and she doesn't like it.

While, on the other hand, Victoria had to leave her job because Victor preferred Adam over her.  And she lives in the cottage with JT, who is not exactly a big executive.  She has a baby now, which was supposedly her biggest joy in life, but she still works.  She was on death's door, but she seems to have forgotten that.  It bothers her that Sabrina has the business (Victor's doing) and has more *status*, shall we say, than she does.

This is my theory.  I don't think it's because Sabrina *lied* to her or their friendship was ruined, or she feels bad for her mother, any of that.  She just says that to cover the real reason.   Now if something happens to Sabrina, she will regret feeling this way.

You are addressing an interesting point here.  What Freud could make of this would be interesting, LoL.  I've always pictured Victoria as quite jealous where Victor is concerned.  At times, I almost expect her to jump up in his lap and say 'Daddy, tell me again about when I was a little girl'....you know, that kind of thing.  Her demeanor is different around him than it is around other people, except for times when she is quite angry with him.  I believe that she thinks of herself as exceptionally special to him, maybe even more so than his other children are.

For a young woman like Sabrina, equal to her in age, to take a special place in his heart would be devastating for Victoria and IMO, this is what is eating at her the most.  This is the deeper issue that lies beneathe the betrayal thing that she keeps shouting about.  Victoria sarcastically referred to Sabrina as 'his princess bride' the other day and I think that says something right there.  Victoria is 'his princess' (in her mind) and there's simply not any room for another young woman, such as Sabrina.

  • Thank you! You said it better than I did. Victoria feels she is no longer the *princess* and she hates it! csd
  • The thought came to my mind with her continuing attitude toward Sabrina -was that she's no longer Daddy's little girl.--Paula

Victoria likes Victor's attention, A LOT and she's not getting much these days since he's distracted with his young wife.  So, yes, I believe that there is a certain amount of jealousy there, FOR SURE.

Victoria is a brat, plain and simple...Sabrina is a sneak and a liar...the two don't mix.

  • I can't imagine why you would think Sabrina is a sneak and a liar. She didn't know her ex boyfriend was in town. Jack is the one who had him come. And so she had a boyfriend she was once in love with. Vikki been married four times --I assume she loved those ex husbands also --so much that she married them. So why did she lie? And what makes her a sneak? Marrying someone much older is certainly nothing new--she's not an 18 or 20 year year old kid. If she's about the same age as Vikki how old do you think Vikki might be? She wasn't married to any of the fellows for a day or two. So I would imagine at least in her late thirties ---and possibly in her early forthies. I've been watching for some time and she's been an adult for some years.--Paula

No, I do not think she is jealous of Sabrina. I, too would be so mad if my best friend married my dad, hell I would be upset if just a friend married my Dad. I would never speak to her again and it would be a very long time before I spoke to my dad.

IMHO, Victoria isn't jealous of Sabrina-Sabrina broke the unwritten code of screwing a good friend over. It's unwritten that you don't date ex's and a friend's parents. Sabrina led Victoria to think that Sabrina was a true friend, when actually Sabrina just wanted to take advantage of Victoria and get some of the money that Victoria had. That Victor wrote Victoria out of his will, which was Sabrina's plan all along.

Who has anything to do with people once they pull one over on you like that? As they say, 'Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me.' You can't trust someone like that. Sabrina might go after JT if Victoria let Sabrina anywhere near her again.

  • IRL, sure. But in GC, Victoria married her own mother's ex-lover/ex-fiance. That stuff happens all the time in GC. ~i&b

Victoria is jealous of Sabrina because she doesn't feel like daddy's little girl now that daddy has a playmate her same age. It's gone beyond simply being angry that her best friend married her dad.  If not for the deeper issue, she would have gotten over that by now.

I think it is because Sabrina was sneaky about she and Victor.  Like Victoria's comment the other day when she thought her friend was coming to see her, she was coming to see Victor.  You have to remember that Victoria knew that Sabrina was nuts over the Phillipe character only a few months ago and now she is married to Victor (a billionaire). I don't blame her for being suspicious.  I certainly would be.

As far as seeing Sabrina in fancy clothes and house, I don't buy that for a minute.  Victoria has her own money and I don't believe she covets what she is already used to. She can still dress like she wants to and she doesn't mind living in the house that Sharon and Nick did.

Regarding Adam, Victor showed his daughter no respect at all when he trumped Adam's decision over hers.  She has worked and been CO-CEO of N.E. for years and it has been pointed out that the business comes natural to her.  Just because someone is a Harvard graduate does not mean that they know more than someone with years of experience in the business.  I don't blame Victoria for leaving N.E.  and if I were her I would not go back.

Victor will be the one to regret the decisions he is making and I for one will enjoy seeing it.

  • Victor should have used more tact (as usual) in dealing with the tensions between Victoria & Adam. But with those two, I feel they share the blame for their inability to get along. Adam was pushy and constantly ignored Victoria's advice. And Victoria most often ignored his suggestions, just wasn't willing to even consider some of his ideas. If both had been a tad more flexible they could have enjoyed a good work relationship. And probably the law suit NE vs. Jabot would never have happened. eom/faysie
  • I don't think that either Nick or Victoria are materialistic especially given all that they have had. They both avoid media attention except in business situations. Victoria likes to work and that doesn't make her a bad mother. She could be living in a big house and have a nanny raising her child. I think Victoria feels betrayed by her best friend and her father.
  • What I would like to see is Adam, Victoria and Nick team up against Daddy Dearest.
  • I see this whole picture the same way you do Bertha Victor can thank himself for his problems with his children and Sabrina can thank herself for her dead friendship with Victoria. I found it particularly ironic when Sabrina was yelling at Victoria about '' how could you betray me like this?'' It was Sabrina who betrayed her friend in the worst of ways to begin with. Also Vicky studied Modern Art (or whatever she did when she was away) and Daddy was never interested in it and never got her a Art Gallery. So you have a point about the jealousy, I had not thought of that.

    Replies: (list all replies)

  • I don't know that Victoria wanted an art gallery. If she wanted one, I imagine she would have gotten it.
  • No,I think she has a point. Even if she didn't ask for it, when she got back from Italy, Victor could have suggested it. He jumped on it with Sabrina, and he didn't even like art! csd
  • That doesn't mean that Victoria gives a flip about it.

I really like both vicki and Sabrina.  I think Vicki was hurt by Sabrina's shagging and then marrying her dad.  As her best friend, she thought it out of line, and inappropriate.  i would feel that way too. However, vicki needs to let it go and move on.  I do not think she is jealous, as Vicki is every bit as gorgeous and talented as Sabrina.  I think it is residual anger at what she perceives was questionable tactics in marrying her father when the last Vicki heard, Sabrina was still inm love with that floofy French lad.

    Replies: (list all replies)

  • I'm not a big fan of Sabrina either, but I think Vicki has carried it on too far. She seems more concerned with all the stuff Sabrina is doing than she is being with her own family. And Victoria is pretty, but she just doesn't seem to get the attention and have that glamour look about her that Sabrina has. But if I were Victoria, I would definitely be disgusted with my father. I think Victor should have stayed away from Sabrina, knowing she was Vickie's friend, not to mention the age difference. csd
  • I think Victoria is much more beautiful than Sabrina and a much better body. She looks professional in her work clothing. Sabrina is in the business of art which allows her to dress with more flair.
  • Totally disagree about Sabrina having the *glamour look* over Victoria. Victoria is a beauty and has no reason to be intimidated by Sabrina's looks.
