Topic: They Have Totally LOST The Momentum..........................

.........that they had, when Adam was wreaking havoc.

Even if they decide to tie up this storyline next week, it won't pack any punch.  Too much water under the bridge.

It looked for a while, as if Sharon was going to get a clue, when someone at the hospital told her that, and I quote, "There is no Dr. Taylor on staff, here".  You would think that any sane woman would wonder about who it was that actually delivered her baby?

Then, when she was at the hospital for what she said was her post-partum checkup, you would think that her "real" doctor would say, "there was nothing wrong with your baby!!!!"

Then, as we saw her starting endlessly at her sonograms, and seeing no major deformity, shew would ask a question, FGS???

So, it is clear the writers seem to want to redeem Adam, and leave baby Faith in the hands of Ashley, and just forget about that entire mess, though I am sure that Estella deserves her day in court, don't you?

How can we ever want to become invested in another big "secret", if it isn't ever going to come out?

I would be okay with a baby switch story taking some time to come out **IF** it had been well written. This wasn't.

- First there was the miscarriage that we are supposed to believe Adam just "took care of" and "cleaned up" without any trace whatsoever, EVEN apparently cleaning up Ashley HERSELF, yet she has NO knowledge or memory of it. Yeh, right.
- Then we got the absolutely ridiculous "hysterical" pregnancy that NOBODY around Ashley even had a hint was a little *unusual*. NOBODY found it odd that even though she claimed to feel the baby kick, no one else ever did, and NOBODY thought that a pregnant woman approaching 50 who appears to be somewhat off her rocker should be seeing an OB-GYN more than just once in a while.
- Then they gave us two supposedly very pregnant ladies admitted to a psychiatric hospital WITH NO OB-GYN in the building in case either needed one? I'm not a doctor, and I may be wrong, but I doubt that scenario would ever exist.
- Then we're supposed to believe that instead of calling their own staff OB-GYN, they just let someone who HAPPENED TO BE in the building when both ladies went into labor AT THE SAME TIME (PUHLEEZE!) preside? How is it that one baby supposedly died, yet the psychiatric hospital's insurance company hasn't been involved AT ALL?
- How is it that NO hospital employee -- not one -- was present to see, firsthand, either "birth"?
- Then we're supposed to believe that Ms. Hysterical Ashley actually believes that she birthed this baby, though she obviously ISN'T experiencing ANY of the obvious tell-tale aftermath of childbirth (and it isn't as if she isn't aware of what that's like).
- THEN we're supposed to believe that Ashley is, all of a sudden after giving hysterical childbirth, "strong and confident" (Jack's words) and not crazy anymore?
- And Sharon just takes their word for it that Baby Faith didn't make it? No lawyers? No other doctors? No investigation?

All I can say is, GMAFB! As a viewer, I'm supposed to be patient about the truth coming out when I've been offered that much CRAP as a supposedly compelling "long-term" story? Are you kidding me? This was among the WORST and most incompetently written soap opera stories in history. If Bill Bell were alive, he would be the first one to blast it after how hard he worked to not insult Y&R viewers.

To the person below who mentioned not being able to write dialogue, that is the one area I disagree. Some of the dialogue writing itself is actually very good; it's the STORYTELLING itself that continues to fall short repeatedly. Why? This isn't anything that someone who makes a living writing stories or whose title is *head writer* shouldn't be able to see and fix in a nanosecond!

That they would offer something THIS ridiculously lame is just beyond belief!

Baby-switch storyline aren't supposed to be resolved overnight. How long did it take Lauren to find out that the baby she brought home wasn't hers, and that Sheila had her real baby? Today's viewers seems to want everything resolved, resolved, resolved in about a day. They have no patience anymore for long-term storylines.

  • The difference is, at the time of the Lauren/Sheila baby swap, the storyline was hugely compelling. This one, too me, is not. If they put some effort into it (even a little bit), maybe viewers wouldn't mind the wait. eom VeeJay

The writers have proven over and over again that they are incompetent of writing a good SL and keeping the viewers interest. They should all be fired for ruining what once was a great show. It seems that these writers are a bunch of amateurs that can't string a sentence together let alone a complete dialogue that makes sense with some sort of continuity. Lame writing all around .....

If it doesn't come out soon that Faith is Sharon and Nick's baby I don't know how much longer I will be able to watch this show.  It's so unrealistic...it's been done a thousand times before.  It's getting old and I just can't understand why it happened to begin with.  And the whole "gas-lighting" thing.  I don't even like that word.  I never heard it until this story line and then that's all Victor kept saying.

Adam needs to be found out and SOOOOOOON!!!  And if he doesn't get sent back to prison for either one of these crimes then I'm definitely tuning out.  This show has gone down hill in the past couple of years.  Will they ever be able to get it back to what it once was?

They want Adam to be a flawed "hero" who does awful things just like his revolting father.  So they won't really follow through on the gaslighting.  They have always done the same thing with the misreable Victor.  He does appalling things that wreck havoc in people's lives then they just let it drop similarily to what they are doing with Adam.  My personal speculation is that Adam will fall for the dimwit Sharon, fess up about stealing her baby, telll Ashley he did it because he felt so guilty about his role in her miscarriage and that will be it.  The gaslighting if it is even mentioned will be swept under the carpet.

These writers continuously have characters doing something awful for shock value then they let it drop without any follow up.   MAB and her crew are such hacks.

ITA...it is almost as if that whole gaslighting happened in another universe. Ashley is busy with her daughters and work..Adam is busy working with Nick.. and I don't know where Sharon is..probably remodeling Brad's house.. It is as if the PTB have moved away from Nicki and Victor..and Colleen..and what happened back in September and October with Ashley and Adam.
