I am not, nor was I knocking Little Richard. I do think that if any preformer can not sing or act like he used to then he is making him own self look bad.

The man must have a good head and heart. But when he sings, he acts and looks like a freak.

He caters to some kind of public, as the noisy and shouting teen newbies do. The public makes the star performer when they pay hundreds of dollars to go and see him/her. It doesn't make the talent. So a star is a good representative of his/her public. And people are entitled to disagree, not because their tastes are better, but because they have different tastes. So what if today's teen idols are laughed at down the road? That's life.

There is a lot of negatism on the board so you have to ignore some of it.  So what, people get older!  The Rolling Stones are now senior citizens but I wouldn't have missed their music.  I also love Bruce, Billy Joel, Elton John, Eric Clapton, Rod Stewart and many others.  They are all getting older. That doesn't mean they have lost their talent and did not contribute some of the best music ever.

As far as Little Richard on the show, I thought it was a hoot and the wedding was so typical of a wedding I would expect Gloria to have.

Did you think that the show was critical of him or are there messages on here that I have missed. I love Little Richard, he is from my parents time so I heard him mainly when I was a kid. I saw someone had posted the Stones pic and I gotta say I would spend money to see Little Richard long before I would those guys.

  • I just thought it was amusing that some seemed to think a guy 75 years old should be ''more animated.'' That's funny! I don't remember LR doing more than standing up at the piano occasionally. There are some pretty cute videos on youtube.
  • I actually just thought about my Stones comment and was coming back to say I was a jerk to say that. Everyone is allowed to like who they like. I think you are right about LR, I don't recall him being a big moving around kind of guy even when he was younger, hard to jump across stage and play piano at the same time.

I've always liked Little Richard.  I was really looking forward to seeing him.  But watching him today was very uncomfortable.

He doesn't look well and it looked as if it was difficult for him to move.  I've never seen him so 'restrained'.  My image of him is animated and wild.  I was so sorry to see him having such a difficult time.

Nevertheless it was good to see him.  This is the first singing scene I didn't FF thru.

  • It may be the first song I didn't ff through too.

  • I am grateful to say that the Beaver clan up above are all just a tad older than me. Maybe not much but just a day or two. :o) Diane
