Additional Comments:

that's what gloria muttered under her breath after having her job threatened by jill.  that guy ain't no prize!!  i'm sorry, but i just couldn't let them get away with that one.

jeff bardwell is a massive piece of dog doo!  he's a fake playboy extortionist who came to town supposedly to avenge his brother's death, and instead fell into bed with the very person who drove his identical twin to the grave!!  now, i guess he tries to pass as redeemed because he's really in luuuuv with irresistible gloria.  that-is-a-load-of-crap.

on somewhat of a side note, each of these characters who has returned from one form of demise or another (john, will, carmen, cassie) have been distant seconds to their respective original characters.  i know original will was boring, and carmen was a tramp.  still, jeff is loosey-goosey by comparison, and carmen was a lurker...always hidden in the shadows and acting even more rediculous than the original.  cassie and john were ghosts--nuff said.  and john was even an alistair--again, nuff said.  at least terrible tom was a somewhat interesting spooky ghost upon his return.

i really love this place cause i get to blast off like this!

I think Jeffrey and Gloria are perfect for each other and things are working out as they should.  The only reason Jill has any interest in Jeff whatsoever is for the sheer pleasure of taking something away from Gloria.  Besides, Jill would tire of Jeffrey in short order, even if she succeeded in getting him.

  • jeff and glo really do match up well, Peridot (kinda' leaves a funny taste in my mouth). jill is going to have to use her brain and find another way to stick it to gloria other than making a complete fool of herself. i really hate to see jill go down this road...and she's losing!! judge

Unless I've been asleep at the wheel with this one, Jill latched onto Jeff the Jerk with the sole intent of finding out what Gloria was hiding and WE all got the inside scoop that it was going to be the coup de grace for the draggy face cream tale. Hiring Alistair to investigate Glo and Jeff was a flop in itself. The whole Jill..Gloria..Jeff..secret turned into something else...is a disaster on top of the other disaster. If Jill reverted from tormenting Gloria to actually wanting Jeff, may her brain RIP.

  • ITA. I think somewhere along the line her pride got hurt because he obviously prefers Gloworm to her. Now it's turned personal. eom/faysie
  • good assessment Augie and faysie. the story takes so many turns we can get lost along the way! it seems the writers lose themselves trying to develop these SL's. then, they just throw anything at us and expect us to accept it without reason. on faysie's point, i think we all expect much more of jill than this. she should be able to figure out her position and correct herself before it goes this far. with katherine trying to help bring her back to reason, it's even more fantastic that she hangs onto this obsession...judge

    Let's see........ power/guy(Jeffrey Bardwell)  ............  power/guy(Jeffrey Bardwell)

No brainer ----  I'll take the power everytime.  LOL

Of course, to Gloria, the guy (Jeffrey Bardwell)  comes with 50 million of HER hard earned (LOL) dollars attached.  That might make a difference in the scales.  :)

  • agreed on both counts, ShirleyB. jill needs to stick with her 'power'. she's good at it. on the other hand, if i were glo, i'd stay close to my money too! real close!! marrying close!!! but, trying to bill this guy as a catch...NO WAY! maybe it's time for a real eligible man to come along to romance the vet's of the show...judge

Actually, I thought it was an appropriate barb.  Jill has been an absolute witch and has followed Gloria wherever she worked and enjoyed kicking her while she was down.  While I agree about Bardwell, I still liked the remark.

  • i definitely agree with that perspective, Bertha. i should've said so in my original post. the comment in itself was certainly appropriate given how jill has acted lately. it's a good comment because jill has stuck her nose in grown folk's business and needs to find another hobby other than following gloria around and acting like a teenager over a guy. still, my eye is on the writing of this character (jeff) and trying to sneak him by as a worthwhile suitor. he's a bum! even worse than the likes of alistair, IMO...judge
  • Awww poor Gloria. Afterall she's done nothing to Jill except drug her.

You said it!  John's many returns (as a ghost and as Allistair) completely ruined the character's memory for me.  I could have handled, maybe 1 or 2 vists from ghost John.  Jack was going through all of that turmoil after his death and a couple of conversations between them would have been good.  But, it got to the point where John showed up constantly and he was always ragging on Jack, even when he didn't deserve it.  I think the worst one was when he showed up looking all ashen/pale looking like the ghost of Jacob Marley, that was completely CARTOONISH!  Why did they treat a dignified vet that way?  It was pathetic to see him portraying that bumbling mooch Allistair as well.

On the other note, this treatment of Jeff like he's on the top-10 list of eligible bachelors is a JOKE!  The guy is wishy-washy, has no career or job and sponged off Gloria for months.  Well, actually he sponged off the late John Abbott and Will Bardwell.  Why the hell is Jill wasting her time and turning into a she-devil over him?  What happened to her supposed brains?

  • very well put, Kit! i agree that a few visits from would've been great. but, lording over jack's life even when he was dead wrong (pun intended) was too much. gloria was at her best with john. will was even ok. these others leave SO much to be desired...judge

Right, judge. What a guy and whywould Jill go after such a mooch--but she doesn't even know about how he got all that money from Glo and why he thought he deserved it---(his brother didn't leave it to him so why should he think he should have it?). He's an awful guy, What a difference between him and John. John was about the most honorable man on the show except for some ridiculous reason the writers wrote him off the way they did. Then to have him return has silly Allister--and then his ghost. I know many disliked the ghost thing but I didn't mind it. Again he was the honorable John trying to straighten out his son. But back to Jeffrey--he and Will were complete opposites. Jeffrey's just a miserable mooch. And the way he ordered Esther to serve him also wasn't pretty. What a shm*&%k. Don't usually use that word but it fits Jeffrey.

  • that 'word you don't normally use' suits jeff perfectly, Paula. i didn't mind ghost john so much either. i was disappointed that they killed off live john knowing full well he was important to this cast. gloria is all over the map with her choice of men...judge
