. . . of Billy's cynical smirk.
Today when he ws talking to Katherine and then when he saw Cane and Mac embracing, he had that nasty smile on his face. UGH!
I've always liked Billy, but I'm getting sick and tired of his brattiness, which is all I can call it since he seems so immature lately.
What a bitch!

Message: Agreed. I like the actor here though much more than I did on All My Children where he played a psycho/ potential rapist. I do wish he'd stop grinning everyday though.

Message: It doesn't bother me, I like him. But I think he's been told that it's "his thing" to do that. Like a trademark or something. Like how Katherine is always waving her hands around in the air. Or how Victor always says "You got that" and "you have a nice day."
Nick does the same smirky thing but he doesn't have as many teeth as Billy does so it's not quite the same effect.

Message: Who is touching up Patty's hair in the rubber room? The wig is nasty. They should let her hair go back natural. Oh, wait! That will happen when she discovers that Jack and the shrink are an item, and she needs to bonk the doc on the head, and get out and kill Jack. No, this is not a spoiler. Just my own idea of where it is headed.

His mannerisms are so comical. When he is upset, his nostrils flare, then he bares his teeth, it is like watching a bullfight.
He is becoming guilty of the Christian LeBlanc - overacting technique. Though it has earned CLB many emmy's, I don't think it is working as well for Billy Miller.
Yes, a more subtle technique is definitely in order!

Good smirks don't involve baring the teeth like someone in a horror flick; I wish he'd develop a more subtle smirk, with lips closed.
Lately he has developed another irksome behaviour where he disengages his lower jaw, like he is trying to relieve TMJ syndrome (though he has plenty to be stressed about, mostly self induced!).

Message: I like Billy and am glad he's going after The Newman's. All the facial expressions are a cover for his lack of being a really good actor. Hopefully he will grow as an actor and not over use them.

Message: Glad to see that I'm not alone here. I've also grown to hate that smirk of his. And his self-considered 'charm'. He apparently thinks his smile is golden, and that any woman who gets the benefit of seeing his gleaming choppers in full display is going to immediately forget & forgive his transgressions.

TPTB did a great job casting Billy because he really does look like Jack's brother. However I believe they want him to be like a "young Jack."
Jack is known as "smiling Jack" and Billy is probably trying to mimic Jack but his smile turns into an annoying, smirking grin. Somebody needs to take him to a room with some videos of Jack and let him see that "smiling Jack" shows no teeth, just a smile that can look like a satisfied cat or an evil jerk, whichever fits the occassion.
I like Billy Miller though and I'll like him even better when they end his romantic relationship with Mac. I don't want him back with Chloe...they are too alike. Billy needs someone to keep him on the straight and narrow. Maybe Heather would be a good choice...where is Heather?

Message: I love Billy but I have to say he does the rolling eyes bit too much. Especially when you can see the whites of his eyes. It is not attractive.

Message: I agree that all the grimacing (where is spell check?) is getting old, and another mannerism that bothers me is touching the bridge of his nose with his thumb to show irritation. I'm embarrassed for him sometimes. Maybe he could develop some new characteristics and be ok?

Miller's overuse of the smirky grin is annoying at times - and occasionally even inappropriate (imho). I echo Peridot's thought that, unless Billy is supposed to be coming off annoying, then the director(s) should inform him to use this expression less. Afterall, less really is more, and we might actually get a kick out of him ''doing the grin'' when it makes sense. I'd like to know if the actor did this when he played Richie(?) on All My Children. IOW, is this mannerism innate to the way he acts or something? At times, it's not just distracting, but a real turn-off.

I agree with SpoilerAddict below. A director needs to take the actor aside and tell him to get a handle on that smirk, it's become trite. Tell him if he wants to constantly bare his choppers maybe he ought to audition for one of the Twilight films.
Yesterday I noticed another poster referring to Billy as Mr. Teeth. Gave me a chuckle.

Message: I am still a Billy fan and I like the actor. But even I am getting fed up with the one dimensional way he is being written. The actor is beginning to rely on mannerisms such as that silly smirk instead of acting.

Message: I've been fed up with Billy's clownish expressions and obnoxious behavior for a while now. He's going toe to toe with Jeffrey in a contest of ugly grimmacing/grinning/snarling. But at least Billy's got the teeth for it.

Message: I know exactly which smirk you're referring to, and every time I see it on his face, I want to kick him into next week! I more or less like the character of Billy, but that expression has this smug quality that I cannot stand.
