That's the point - when they bring in characters who are unrelated to anyone, like say Amber, we get sick of them because they are front and center in the same story all the time. If they come to town already related, they can be spread around a little bit, be in different scenes with different people.

On today's Canadian show Cane and Chloe arrive at the Chancellor estate for the big wedding extravaganza. Prior to the arrival of the happy couple, Esther had been making comments about Chloe and her wicked ways, and wishing that it was a party for Cane and Lily. When the couple arrives Esther comes into the parlour with a tray of drinks. Champagne for a toast with a glass of sparking water for the pregnant bride. When she lifts her head and sees Chloe she drops the tray and screams out Kate ... the camera then turns to Chloe who has a strange, guiltly look on her face. That was it for today's show.

Let's get this straight.
Didn't Katherine pay for Esther to send little Kate off to Boarding School?? Then how does this match with Chloe's story. Chloe didn't tell Cane that she was away at Boarding School. She made it sound like she lived at home with a mother who ignored her, which is why she got attached to that giraffe.
I don't know. I'm just not buying it. EVERYONE in Genoa City, even the newcomers, all seem to be long-lost children, or discovering that they are brother and sister. It happened with the Jill/Katherine sl, then it happened that the bartender at Indigo, turned out to be Jill's long-lost son, it happened with the Devon/Anna storyline, it happened with Christine who fell in love with someone who she discovered was her long-lost brother, it happened with Malcolm who discovered that Lily was his daughter, it happened with Victoria who thought that Cole was a brother, but mercifully, the writers decided not to make them brother/sister, after all.
Now, we are to believe that Chloe/Kate is really Esther's daughter?? This is just pathetic.

Not to mention that Chloe knew Cain and Jill are Chancellors and has crossed paths with Katherine numerous times. Surely she knows who it is her mother has worked for over the last 35 years. How absurd! ~i&b

Jill has always treated Esther like dirt so this revelation will really bite Jill. If the rumour is true that Jill's other son, Billy, is the baby-daddy, then the situation won't improve from Jill's point of view, lol.
