Mac whinges about how little she really does, she has the bar Jimmy's but so what, she can't go back tto Darfur, so how can Mac make a difference? Of course! Carry the seed of Cane and Lily so Lily can be a "great mother" and if she dies can leave a "piece of her" for Cane. She stares Billy in the face and makes this pronouncement. Can we say Nobel Prize winner for making a difference and helping Lily and Cane.

I mean she wants to have a kid..but not her own..I guess that means
she can't face the responsibility of caring for her own kid..but if
Cane asked her to take care of his and Lily's baby should anything happen
to Lily..of course she would say yes. Maybe it's just that she's not
ready to be a mother to Billy's kid..but then did he ever ask her yet
to do that?

Message: I couldn't figure out why Mac thought it was a good idea to buy the bar either...she has never approved of drinking...look what happened to Billy in high school...and then there was her step-father and she was also aware of Kay's alchoholism...and being the 'goody two-shoes' she has always been, helping out in shelters and going to Darfur and all, you'd think she wouldn't want to promote drinking and alcoholism by owning a bar. I thought maybe she'd use it to do something else...like transform it into another hotspot like Indigo is supposed to be or maybe transform it into a soup kitchen or something. There have to be lots of things she could do in the realm of shelter/soup kitchen type work in the area...work with the Chancellor or Abbott Foundations to set up some kind of housing creation or other support agency for people who are homeless or something....you can't tell me being a surrogate or 'gestational carrier' as she called it is her only choice for 'making a difference' or 'having a purpose'! Use that so-called brain you have and come up with something else!

Message: I wouldn't mind this silly storyline if the show indicated we're SUPPOSED TO think Mac's off her rocker. If the show indicated we're SUPPOSED TO realize Lily's acting like a five-year-old. ("I want it NOW. I can't wait. I want it so it must happen.")
But I'm afraid the writers are going to make Mac and Lily saints and all the naysaying characters will realize it eventually. That's what really bugs me.

Message: Mac is getting to be a little too much to take. First off, why in the heck would she buy a dive like Jimmy's in the first place, to help needy alcoholics? Now she says she wants to help Lily and Cane, come on, why would she want to do this? this makes no sense at all. She is suppose to be so much in love with Billy, but she wants to be a human incubator. There are many needy causes in this world, many ways she can help the less fortunate. Having a baby for Cane and Lily is not something that would help the world.

If Darfur is too much for Mac, why not join Habitat for Humanity in Wisconsin or help out at the homeless shelter when not bartending and taking inventory?
