Additional Comments:
I've been watching the Young and the Restless for 30 years now and have more or less just been an "observer" on this board. I know this is a discussion board and everyone's opinion is equally important so I would like to add my 2 cents on a few recurring issues brought up on this board.
First and foremost, I can't for the life of me figure out why some people are actually defending Victoria when it comes to her treatment of Sabrina. I could understand if there were some facts (not speculations) pointing to Sabrina being some kind of evil person with an alterior motive...but there aren't any (not yet anyway). Whether your like someone or not, wrong is just wrong...and I wouldn't treat an enemy the way Victoria has treated Sabrina.
Secondly, this whole bashing of Victor Newman (my favourite character by the way) and the way he treats his family...are you kidding me? Now I know Victor is far too controlling at times and way too stubborn for his own good (though he has mellowed over the years), but when it comes to his family he 99% of the time is doing what he thinks is best to protect them. But let's say you don't agree with that, can you honestly tell me that Nikki would be CEO of Jabot, Victoria would be a top executive at Jabot or that Nick would be running his own magazine without Victor providing them with opportunities that most people would dream of? Nick has turned his father into the Federal authorities, accidently granted Brad and Jack access to confidential Newman files when they briefly took over Newman enterprises by changing the figures on a deal that Victor had done. Not to mention that Nick wasn't even sure if Victor was guilty of murdering Ji Min or not and didn't really stand by his father. Victoria left Newman because Victor gave her project to someone else (those things happen in real companies all the time). I'm SOOOOO glad that Victor is finally cutting them out of his will...do you hear how they talk about him?
And a few questions...why don't we all love Amber...she's so cute and harmless:) I can't stand Cane, not sure why he's such a big hit...he has as much personality as a stone quiety resting near a curb. I don't even want to comment on Jack...he used to be my favourite character but what he's done lately is just beyond words. Could Adrian press charges?
Thanks for letting me vent;)

Message: Everyone's entitled to his/her own opinion, but ICDM about Victor and Amber. Victor fired Nick because Nick said, "I hope I don't turn out like you" or something to that effect. Amber--cute and harmless? How about annoying and destructive. Didn't she set The Club on fire? Steal a bunch of money? She cheats, lies, and answers the phone at RS like it's a dive bar. And Victor. Don't even get me started. A control freak on wheels who thinks he's God. No offense but I think you need to re-examine a thing or two. As for us "bashers"...this isn't a "fan" board, it's a discussion board and we're not all going to sugarcoat everything and everyone..at least not to the extent some other boards do. But like I said, everyone's entitled to his/her own opinion.

Message: Each to their own opinions I guess. I kinda of understand if people like GRambo if they haven't been watching long but if they have been watching as long as you or I have I don't get it. From locking his wifes boyfriend in the cage to the way he has treated all of his women, awful once they dont' do things his way. The man is egotistical and very controlling and such a caricature of himself that I don't see how anyone can like the man anymore. He can write his children out of his will at the drop of a hat??? I do think the kids should have moved out long ago though.
There's a lot of truth in what you posted. No way in God's green earth would Nikki have been the CEO of anything had Victor not plucked her off the stripper pole and who knows what Nick and Victoria would be doing career-wise had TGVN been, say, a mailman. A lot of us have made those comments and also pointed out the hypocrisy of Nick & Vicki criticizing their father (at the very least) while living on his dime and his property. But does that make TGVN any controlling? Even if he's right in his opinion of what they should or should not be doing, does that make him any less obnoxious in his expression of it? It works both ways in that family.
And as far as Scamber goes, you don't know the character if you think she's harmless. Because of her, one person lost a kidney and because of her a 4-5 year old boy was traumatized and came within seconds of losing his life several times. Scamber may well have been the cause of her first baby's death -- we'll never know whether or not he may have lived had he been born in a hospital where he could have gotten treatment instead of a broken down trailer in the middle of the desert while Scamber hid out waiting to see what race the baby resembled so she'd know which man to claim as the father. Then there are the two people Scamber kidnapped and kept in the bottom of a well in the mountains in the middle of winter and watched via remote camera while they slowly succumbed to hypothermia and nearly died, all in an effort to force one of them to accept her inappropriate sexual relationship with his teenage son. Scamber has left nothing but a path of destruction in her wake and there's absolutely nothing ''cute'' about it.
Chris, I hear you and I can see your point. I think the whole misunderstanding rests in the way the sentences of the post are worded. For example:
Some viewpoints on this board shock me
First and foremost, I can't for the life of me figure out why some people are...
I could understand if there were some facts (not speculations) pointing to Sabrina being some kind of evil person with an alterior motive...but there aren't any (not yet anyway).
Secondly, this whole bashing of Victor Newman (my favourite character by the way) and the way he treats his family...are you kidding me?
But let's say you don't agree with that, can you honestly tell me that…
And a few questions...why don't we all love Amber...she's so cute and harmless.
Chris, I think you're taking the show and this board wayyyyyyyy too seriously.
I've been watching Y&R and B&B for 22 years. I read the posts here, sometimes I laugh, sometimes I just read them and move on.
I hardly ever post my opinions because frankly I don't care. I realize it's just a soap.
I watch it every night when I go home from work and I can't tell you what yesterdays episode was about. I just don't "get into it" like others do. But I watch it for the moment.
Just try to remember it's a script written by people who are writers and the actors are working out the scripts, it's not real life.
I watch reality shows, true stories like 48 hours and 20/20 and I like them much better because it's real life to me.
Just don't get so wrapped up in it that you are upset with what others think. Everyone is entitled to their own opinions about what is happening...you can't change that.

Message: You are for sure entitled to you opinion and to you likes and dislikes. But I think posts shouldn't criticize directly to people posting on this board and should keep to the topics discussed. Everybody is entitled to their opinions without being chastized for it and without making them feel that they are wrong in expressing them. This is a discussion board, there are pros and cons, and they are all ok. JMHO of course.
