David is entitled to his half of the paid-in-full multimillion-dollar mansion if he DIVORCES Nikki.

How dumb of Nikki as always! And to tell that she took a whole week-end course in business in New York some years ago and is now thus, according to her, capable of running a billion-dollar company single handed. No wonder she gets secretarial spread.

That's what I was thinking too!!! Why make it even more tempting for David C to potentially 'knock her off'. ?? eom/faysie

On the death of one of the owners, that half reverts to the estate IF both have not previously signed a paper or indicated in their will that they give their half to the survivor upon death. Since Nikki did not have time to change her will, that half of hers remains that half of hers, even if David kills her. - Marilou

If I were Nikki (an unimaginable horror, btw) frankly, I'd be more concerned about inheriting ALL of David's debt if he were to, errrr ... suddenly drop dead! .... Hopefully, CEO Nikki had David fill-out the 3X annual salary, life insurance automatic payroll deduction card when she hired him at Jabot.

That's what I said in a topic up above.  Nikki cannot simply instruct the bank to interfere with David's legal rights to his own property.  What a piece of work she is!

I would rather think that, in order to get a loan against a joint property, both owners have to sign the loan request. And then only are they solidarily (one or the other) responsible for the totality of the debt. - Marilou

Yes, but to the extent David has legal rights (whatever their limits may be) Nikki cannot simply instruct a 3rd party to interfere with them. She can't just pick up the phone and tell the bank what to do, just as Dog Chow can't either. ~i&b

She can't instruct a third party, but THEY BOTH HAVE TO SIGN in order to get the loan. AFTER, when the money is in the bank account, David can vanish with all of it and never been seen again. But he can't get the loan all by himself. - Marilou

And I also think that Nikki has frozen HER own bank account to which she had given access to David. She has every right to take that access away from him. And that 's what the telephone call was about, her BANK account. Not the house which is already paid in full. - Marilou
