I can see it all now. Mac,sporting a maternity wardrobe at three weeks, waddling around the bar, patting her tummy and crooning to Baby Ashby not to worry, he/she will have a great life with wonderful parents. Then poof, she's so over fickle Billy and has fallen madly in love with the man whose baby she's carrying. Such a dilemma!
Choice #1....Suffer the throes of agony out of loyalty to friend Lily, or
Choice #2....Friendship has it's limits!
Surely we'll be looking at some variation on that theme if they commence with the hatching of the eggs story.

Message: I think we can expect Cane to be there every step of the way during
Mac's pregnancy and pretty soon..people will begin thinking
that the baby Mac is carrying is really her's and Cane's...not Lily's!!

Message: If Mac already had children (we know she had one miscarriage) but already had children and knows how one feels carrying a child I wonder how she'd feel having to give up the baby. It's not surprising that Mac would offer to do it and though Billy can give her his opinion about it, it really her own decision. I can understand why he feels the way he does. Personally, I think I would find it hard to give up a baby I carried and had it live with me, inside of me. I don't know since I've never been in a position to be a surrogate. I've raised a child (not a newborn) along with my own birth children but that's a completely different kind of experience. I knew I always wanted to have children and if I couldn't have I would have gone the way of adoption. I'm not making any criticism of surrogates whatsoever but just another choice. There are plenty of children in this country alone who have no homes or parents--not newborns but young children. The actress who made that cute movie about Greek wedding-- (can't remember the name of it) on a program told how she adopted a four year old little girl through an American organization. I don't recall the name of it. But that's a private feeling some have and want to have a child with their one blood. So I'm not making a criticism of those who use surrogates,That's a personal private choice. Just another option.

You really could be onto something, there.
Maybe Lily will wind up in a coma (that's pretty much a standard in the Soap world) and Cane will be in so much pain and anguish that the only joy he can feel is when he is with Mac, the woman who is carrying his and Lily's twins. Eventually this will turn to romantic feelings.

I can't stand the thought of this story, there's been enough pregnancy/baby stories for one year, sheesh. Nine months of icky, corny couch conversations between Cane and Lily, plus Neil and Devon watching over Mac's every move to protect Lily's spawn, NO, PLEASE.
