I really figured it was going to be between Lisa and Aaron. I would have liked to see Adam win, but I knew the judges, as a whole, always seemed to be down on him. I hadn't read any of the blogs, but I'm not surprised Bobby Flay didn't like Adam. Of course, I don't care for Bobby Flay, and never watch HIM, so I guess we're even. I would probably have tried to catch Adam's show had he won. I do, however, think he was onto something with the web interaction bit...I'd wager this idea makes it to a show without him on it.
Lisa..had she won, I couldn't see myself watching her show. She comes across as rather holier-than-though IMHO. Her show would have been only slightly different than Amy Findlay's bomb of a show last year. Amy also suffered from holier-than-though syndrome.
Congratulations to Aaron. There were many times I thought he should have gone home during the season, but he didn't, obviously. I agree with the poster who said it helped his cause because he's an African American male, which is in short supply on the Food Network. I don't know how his show will do. I'll check it out, but I can't see myself watching him.
Speaking of Sandra Lee, as someone before did, I think she is a real hoot as well! We get a kick out of her whole house/set being redecorated for whatever theme she's doing for the week, and the fact that the lush creates a drink for every meal. It's a real scream.

I'm happy Aaron won, although I really liked all three in the end. I agree with the poster below. As fabulous as Lisa is, (I'd tune in just to see what she was wearing) there's really not much of an audience for her style of cooking. And Adam's show is very much like one that they already have. For me, that four-minute promo is the only time I've liked him.
And I hate to be the one to bring this up, but Patrick Neely is the only other black male host of a show on the network. The Food Network needs to be more diverse. Aaron gives them that, he can cook and I think there are plenty of people who will watch his show.

I was completely surprised with Aaron winning (and not in a good way). I really don't understand why he won. And he would have been third place in my book. I hated the way last year ended, too. But I'll probably watch again next year. Probably.

I'm not surprised Aaron won. I thought going into the episode last night that he was pretty much a sure thing.
One reason I thought Adam wouldn't make it is that Bobby Flay was not a fan of his. (This isn't conjecture; Bob Tushman said so on his blog.) Also, his pitch was awfully similar to a show they have debuting in a few weeks called ASK AIDA.
As for Lisa, she's pretty much Amy from last year with more polish and style. Since that show crashed after six episodes, I think they realized that not too many people are going to want to cook black cod and fried leeks with a zabaliogne.
Aaron can really cook and has an engaging personality. They probably felt he would be the most accessible of the three. It's true that he still has a ways to go getting over his nervousness in front of the camera, but that is something he can get over eventually. Giada De Laurentiis was the same the first season she did her show, and now she's a total pro in front of the camera. It's the kind of thing that can be learned.
IMO, they took the decision out of the hands of the viewers because of the way Amy's show failed.

Knock me over with a feather, AGAIN, with the outcome. Out of the top three I would have put Aaron in third place yet he won.
All three had problems with nerves but strived to overcome. When each taped their few minutes of show with the producer Lisa did well. She always seems to let things get to her and her mind goes NUMB (literally) but she came off winningly. I think, like Kelsey and Shane, she should have waited for another season.
Adam was charming. He has personality, humor and is a cutie. It took him a long time to prove his talent with food but he DID prove it. I thought his segment was the best and most enjoyable.
Aaron garbles his words and talks waytoofast!!!! He's a lovable bear but I never saw his win coming. I would have bet on both the others over him. I'd like to know how the judges came to this decision. One week and we'll see how he does. I don't think his show will be a draw for me but I'll watch once just to see.
