I guess I had assumed, with all the attention this show got when it was extended past the presidential election and whether Amy Poehler would be back, etc., that it was going to be a Thursday night regular, but I guess that was wrong.  Very disappointing!  It was something you could always count on to crack you up at one point or another, which is more than I can say for other primetime comedies these days.

I wonder if we have to wait for next summer - or another presidential election?? - for it to return.

So far, just the three - two in September, one in early October - but there will be at least three more Thursday editions later in the season (and possibly as many as six more - I've seen that, too, but I'm not sure how reliable the info was - think that piece also said there'd be a couple Thursday shows in November, but none are scheduled now...).


They are working the cast hard. They usually only do 20 shows - this season, they'll do 22 PLUS however many Thursday half-hours...

    I thought so too until I realized they can't do it while they are rehearsing the LIVE show the same week. There's only so much news to report plus they are needed in rehearsal and/or dress rehearsal. Now I'm wondering if they'll be back on Thursdays when the show isn't in full swing.

    I felt it was brilliant during the election and TPTB felt it could succeed even when there wasn't an election. No word on the possibility it didn't get the ratings they needed or wanted. I think it will be back when timing is right.

  • Dax) They pulled double duty (Thursday and Saturday shows) for the first two weeks.. - produced seven shows in five weeks... usually, they've never done more than three Saturday shows in a row - but two seasons ago, back from the strike, they did four-in-a-row, and then again last year during the election stuff, and now at the start of this season...
