Topic: Amazing Race - Hello?

Hello?  If you are afraid of heights or water DO NOT GO ON THE AMAZING RACE!  I had no sympathy for Mikka.  She should have known that her crippling fear would knock her out of the race at some point. 

Oh man, get out of Dubai!  It does not look like anywhere I would want to visit.

I don't really have a favorite team.  But maybe the father/son will keep me interested.

I didn't have a problem with the Globetrotters. They knew they were fighting for their place in the competition and I didn't even think they were saying anything particularly mean or insulting to Mika. They took a shot (no pun intended), and it worked. If they weren't in last place, I doubt that they would have done it. And, they weren't mean about it either. I figured the one Globetrotter was overthinking the watch/combination lock task. I do not think Mika was going to go down the slide anyway. Also, I wonder how long they were at the top of the slide before the Globetrotters caught up to them. In any case, so glad Team Jesus are off my screen!! Why didn't she trust that Jesus would cradle her down the slide? I don't get it. I don't begrudge anybody their religious beliefs, but can't stand those holier than thou types who wear their religion on their sleeve, yet derive no comfort or insight from the practice of it.

I would have been upset with the Globetrotters if they were actively calling Mika names or trying to scare her by telling her she was going to get hurt, or worse, die. But saying something as simple as "Don't do it" doesn't really bother me. But this is a race and as races work it is all about positioning until the very end and the winner is declared, so to move past another runner without tripping them but merely encouraging them to come in second behind you due to their own massive fear that should have been a clue they should never have come on to the race in the first place... big difference there for me.

My favorite teams are the Globetrotters, Gary and Matt, and Sam and Dan. The rest can go, especially Meghan and Cheyne and Team Poker.

I thought Phil looked hilarious in that hat at the pitstop tonight. Can we go somewhere colder so Phil can wear his black sweater of hotness?

I have been to Dubai a few times, and I liked it. I too, went when it was really hot out. It is getting a bit too Americanized, but basically all the growth in Dubai has happened in the last 15 years.

Seriously? 45 minutes? I have sympathy to people with fears, when they are not on TAR. Have they seen the show? I am so glad the GT's got in front of them. eom Mimi

ICAM!  The water wings should have been a dead giveaway.  He certainly changed his tune when they lost--talking about believing in her & being supportive.  He had a funny way of showing that!  I can't believe that he didn't know about her fear of the water before they signed up for the show.

I really thought at one point that he was going to push her down that slide. If he did I would say relationship OVER. /regina

I thought he would push her too, then she would have bounced off the sides and been really hurt. I saw a person at a waterpark who did not cross their legs and arms and was scratched up all over thier legs! It made me decide not to go down it, but if I was in the race I would have closed my eyes and done it. I thought it was halarious the globetrotters started bad mouthing her,

After watching him grab at her a few times, the relationship would be done for me. Another funny thing was at the end when he was talking about forgiveness, I sure hope he wasn't just talking about forgiving her. He needs to take a look at his own behaviour. He certainly wasn't very nice at the duck challenge either with her. eom Tricia

Mika and Canaan are still dating. I read an interview they did. She talked about how she'd tried to learn to swim before the race but that part of the show was just too much for her to handle when it came down to doing it. eom/lisa3

I like each remaining team, but love none. Marcy/Ron were my favorites.

Mika was so annoying. She whined during the tasks, then just fell apart at the water slide. Canaan was cool. I wish he'd had a better partner.

I liked how Flight Time and Big Easy switched from doing glass to doing gold. Their reasoning was sound, that they wouldn't catch up to the other glass teams, and it was good that they figured out the gold numbers. Even if telling time is not their forte, LOL!

I'm probably in the minority, but I like Maria and Jennifer. They work well together, they're not as whiny as several of the other women in the race are, and they're smarter than most of the others. I mean, Sam and Dan had a calculator but still couldn't work out the gold solution! Yet Maria and Jennifer got the answer. Good teamwork with those two pairings working together.

I'm enjoying this season as usual, just don't have a big favorite team. Maybe that's for the best. I always feel bad when my favorites get eliminated. I wonder if next week will be non-elim?
