Additional Comments: why they've put Meredith in a bed and are monitoring her.  I thought last Thursday's episode would bring back the memory for me but it didn't.  Of course I know that she was pregnant at the time so it was a way to hide her belly, but can they drag out that ailment for months, including her maternity leave time (if the end of filming for the season didn't end the problem anyway)?  Thanks.

I did not see the episode but I think she gave part of her liver to her dying father.  I thought the camera angles have been rather clever.  You can not however hide the weight she put on.  Unlike Kendall (can't remember her real name) on AMC she it appears she did not put on 1/4 pound in her face.

  • Yes Kendall Slater (Alicia Menshew) is due in November and she looks about 3 months along where Ellen Pompeo looks good with a little weight in her face. eom/WE
  • WE: I had to laugh a few episodes ago w/GA. They did a good job of hiding EP's pregnancy from the front & side, but when she was walking down the hall, away from the camera, it was SO obvious that she was pregnant! eom
  • I noticed that, too. They've done little more (and all that's needed) than largER blouses for Alicia. I predict a very small baby for her. eom/WE
  • i think her face looks so glowy and so beautiful with the weight she's put on with the pregnancy. i love her glow! i wonder if she's on bed rest?? --carm
  • Ellen Pompeo gave birth in September. I never read she needed bed rest just that by the time they started filming she'd be far along and they would get creative with her and Heigl's absences. I was also surprised that Pompeo will be 40 in a few weeks. Thought she was much younger. eom/WE
  • Oh yeah, that was it - thanks, Reg! That was really a good way to do it, wasn't it, as they were able to use two very relevant storylines (her strained relationships with both her father AND her sister), and they did it well. -Spell
