I could understand if they were proping them up for Emmy nods but the nominations are out already.
I think Mia is a fabulous choreographer (but a TERRIBLE JUDGE) but last night's routine may just have cost Twitch his spot. At this point someone without training needs to DANCE every style thrown at him. There was more acting and reacting than dance in that routine. THAT should have been mentioned to Mia. Early on I could see her using this routine - NOT when push is coming to shove and she's given the least trained guy. If he goes tonight - she just might be the reason.
Tyce's routines are similar to what the judges say about the dancers. Sometimes they are brilliant and other times it's like a dance recital and/or amateurish. I like when he goes completely out of context but some leave me scratching my head.
It was painfully obvious last night that the choreographers were more important than the dancers (to a degree). They were mentioned and praised FIRST and there's only so much time to speak. At one point Toni Basil didn't even say anything about the couple who had just performed.
I really enjoy this show but I'm getting nauseated with all the back pats, praises, hands "at prayer" with submissive bows, all the cliche'd kissing of hands and throwing the kisses out to the dancers. The gesturing must all be in a book on how to accept praise in dance.
I go back and forth on Mia. Sometimes I like her routines and sometimes I hate them. The routine that Twitch and Katee did last night would have been fine, had it not been a dance competition. It was all Katee and Twitch really did not do much, and what he did was not that great. Of course, it was overpraised. I am so over Katee and the judges constantly saying every week that she is the best girl. She is, but I do not need to her it every week. I liked her in the begining, but not so much anymore. William and Joshua are my favorites.
