"I am a gay male and I have to tell you I never thought I would have to place an ad for friends...but here I am.. I am 31 been in a relationship for 10 years that has moved me to here to the lovely twin cities a couple years ago. Needless to say I left all my friends and have not been able to replace them here. I enjoy almost anything from sitting on the couch with a martini at 2pm just because its not 5pm yet, to spending all day at the mall and having to rent a uhaul to get all the bags home. I really like to do fun things spontanously. Theatre, museums, video games, travel of any kind, coffee, wine, goofy conversation (especially after wine =), and finding new restaurants not on the beaten path. So, that is a little about me. If you think we would connect, write me back and lets find out."

I always hear that the Twin Cities attracts really amazing people, but the shelf life is less than 5 years before they move away. I think that is true. Around 2002, the people I hung around most were from out of state/country and now they are ALL gone. Chicago, Miami, New York. I farted off to Savannah, but I'm now back like a stupid douchebag. It's prosperous here, that's my lame excuse.

Needless to say regarding the ad, I will not respond. It would not be wise to go against my upbringing. I am taught to read such ads with high regard and empathy, sigh, and then swiftly turn thoughts inward and move forward with familiar routines and tasks. Yes.

Early this summer I made a friend from the strictly platonic craigslist.  Turns out the logistics of our lives and the distance between us made things too complicated, but she was a very nice person and I don't regret answering her ad.  We exchanged emails awhile, then met (with husbands and kids in tow) at the zoo.  We had a very good time every time we got together.

  • I've never answered an ad, but I'll check them out just to see what's going on there. I do like this guy's phrasing of things. Maybe I'm gullible to think that's an indicator that he's decent and funny. eom Martimmy
  • I don't know. Sometimes if your opportunites for meeting new people are limited you need to take a chance now and then. This guy sounds like someone I would want to hang out with lol. I love going shopping with my friend and her daughter and living vicariously thru their buying. I could never afford a fraction of what they get, and wouldn't want it even if I could, but it is all great fun in the acquisitioning! mz chris

You and me both, but he sounds like someone you could have coffee with--at least once! Although, gotta be careful with CraigsList these days.

  • A friend said it best when asked what a crowd was like at a party he attended, ''It was a fun type of wild at first, and then it just got all....Craigslist. And then I left.'' LMFAO. eom Martimmy
  • Oh, that's a good one. Years ago around here it would've been
