Topic: T.P. - Over or Under the roll????

Topic Posted by: Dottie

Additional Comments:

Same old argument here at my house.  Does the toilet paper and paper towels go OVER or UNDER.  I say it goes OVER and my husband inveriably puts it under - on the RARE instances when he changes the roll.

What do you say - Over or Under????????????????

Dottie

OVER!  Always always always, Over!  I hate when it is under.  I have even gone so far as to change the roll to over, because under bugs me that much.  :-D

The TP and P. Towels must always be OVER!   You have to go searching for it when it is under.

OVER the top. My stupid ex didn't know how to anchor the roll to the holder.

I grew up with it under but ours is OVER.
The resident engineer claims when it's over you always know where the start of the roll is and it's ready to grab.

I remember back on one of the sitcoms where Bea Arthur was discussing the difference between over & under with her housekeeper. Funny.

  • You know..........I guess it really doesn't matter. I'm just glad there is paper in the house and I don't have to use that Sears catalog anymore, or the corn cobs. Dottie

Around here, we're lucky if it gets ON the holder so it really doesn't matter although I prefer it OVER.

I'm like the only person in the world to whom it makes no difference.  Odie seems to change the roll most often, he usually makes it under, if under means the paper comes from the bottom.

  • I guess it doesn't make any difference. It's just a matter of wills here. LOL. Dottie

This topic comes up at least once a year!  We all know that it is OVER the top, and even my husband has to have it that way, so there is never an issue about that in this house, unless I 'accidentally' put it on wrong, and then I hear about it!

I grew up with it under but we like it OVER. My brother loves to change it to under when he's here (lol).

My paper towels go vertical so it really doesn't come into play.

  • Same here! I grew up with it under but since getting married allmost 37 years ago, it's been over. Same with the paper towels being in a holder that holds it upright, on end. - Rusty
