I just want to let everyone know that I responded to all of your posts in yesterday's topic. I wasn't able to get to it at all until later this evening. I was gone tonight so I did that first and then watched my tape of the show. I wondered if there would be a surprise tonight and there really wasn't. Still, it seemed to be a conspiracy because judges scores did not match voters numbers. Here is the whole evening~~
Samantha has a lovely silver gown on this week. Gold last week, silver this week. She must be building up to something special for the next two weeks.
Encore Dance--Joanna & Derek and their Futuristic Paso Doble- Len said that we might have thought that the judges would have picked Mýa & Dimitry's perfect 30 Samba but they thought that this was pure genius and everyone would like to see again what a Paso might look like in the future. ~~ Just as fantastic as last night! They were so in sync! It was an amazing performance! Loved the costumes too!
Tom says, "So we also know that in the future there will be plenty of hair gel."
Did you see Hugh Hefner with his blondes?
Backstage Interviews.- Mýa says that she thinks Pigs are Flying because Len finally gave her no criticism. Donny is constantly reminded how he was overperforming that first dance and is glad that he finally came out of that.
First Couple in Semifinals - Joanna & Derek
Michael Bublé performed "Haven't Met You Yet". Very good performance. He was so much better than that inebriated performance he had on AI a couple seasons ago. The pro partners, Maksim, Jonathan, Anna T. & Cheryl, did a wonderful dance to Michael's song.
Next Couple in Semifinals - Mýa & Dimitry
Dance Center with Kenny Mayne, Jerry Rice and Len Goodman. These guys are so corny, their funny. Even Stacy Keibler from Season 2 was in on this. She interviewed Donny and Bruno (pretending to act like there is really something going on between them). Len wonders why Donny picked Bruno and not him because he is lovable too. They did bits on three dancers, Joanna, Donny (who Jerry said he hopes he looks that good at 82) & Aaron.
Macy's Stars of Dance--Sabrina Bryan dances in the Design-A-Dance performance with her old partner, Mark Ballas. They dance to "Eye of the Tiger" and the dance was superb!! This was well worth the wait. That last movement at the end was just amazing! I can watch this one again and I think I will.
Michael Bublé is back and singing, "Feeling Good", a very good performance. What makes it better is the guest pro dancers that do a sensational dance to his song.
Next Couple in Semifinals - Donny & Kym
Bottom Two Couples - Aaron & Karina; Kelly & Louis
Susan Boyle performs her signature song, "I Dreamed A Dream" and does it as thrilling as she did in Britain's Got Talent. Along with her wonderful rendition was a fabulous dance number by Tony & Chelsie whose dance was just as thrilling as Susan's singing.
Dance Center to talk about the last two celebrities, Kelly & Mýa (at first Kenny starts to talk about Dimitry until Len tells him that he is the pro and Mýa is the celebrity.) Kenny calls Kelly the Princess of Evil because of her father. Len tells us about Mýa's gimmicks that he hates, but still thinks she is a good dancer. Kenny then gets out a modified electric football game to look like the DWTS dance floor with the judges at their desk holding #10 paddles. The dancers are the football players made over with the dancer's faces on them and two players stuck together to make a couple. Kenny starts the game or "dance" going and then pretends there is an earthquake making all couples fall except for Mýa & Dimitry whom he declares the winner. Good filler.
Kelly & Louis go onto the Semifinals.
Eliminated - Aaron & Karina -- Tom announces that if it came to Aaron being eliminated, Len wanted to say something to him and that this has never been done before (the judges making such a statement). Len says, "I think the dedication that you've shown week after week is absolutely fantastic. I think you are an inspiration to all young people that anything is possible. And if you were my son, I would be so proud of you, but more important, you'd be proud of yourself because you've been great!" Aaron then shakes hands with all three judges and gets hugs too. You could see that Karina knew that their name was going to be called and I think Aaron knew too because of the last two times. The people just didn't want him and that was a shame. Between his and Kelly's dances, Aaron did much better. Kelly only beat him by one point.
Next week: Couples dance for a spot in the Finals. They will do one unlearned Ballroom and Latin (with a 15-second solo) dance from Weeks 1-6 & one unlearned dance from Week 4. Three dances. This will be interesting to see how Kelly reacts with the pressure of three dances and how Donny manages three being that he is the oldest.

Just wanted to check in to say how thoroughly enjoyable the results show was in ALL aspects. It's such a shame that we don't have more results shows like this one.
I was sorry to see Aaron leave but not surprised. He couldn't build that necessary fan base but Kelly certainly has. How gracious of Len to offer some kind and encouraging words. I found his words to Aaron very touching. Karina and Aaron were on GMA this morning and BOTH were gracious and pleasant.
Thanks for the great recaps, Linda.
I give THIS results show a #10

I didn't watch it, I taped it. The only reason I did that was to see Susan Boyle.
She was fantastic. The words of the song were so much more clear than when she was on BGT. I had no idea it was such a sad song.
I hope her dreams are coming true now.

OMGOSH on that dance Tony and Chelsia did to I Dreamed a Dream. BEAUTIFUL! I wish now I hadn't deleted the show so I could do a re-watch of that and also Derek & Joanna.
DANG on Aaron getting eliminated. He shouldn't have gone before Kelly imo! Oh well. I happened to run into the interview this morning with Aaron and Karina on one of those morning shows (Good Morning America I think) and he has a single coming out today (gee, do you think they planned that timing?) of Dance With Me.
I'll have to watch SYTYCD tonight. At least I'll know who's going home right after it when I watch tonight's show too.

I soooo wanted Aaron to make it at least one more week BUT he and Kelly were the weakest so it was one or the other. Unless fanbases go nuts, Kelly should not be in finals. That remains to be seen. She and Louis have really bonded and I like that for both of them.

With the wonderful guest singers, the amazing dancing pros, laugh out loud funny Dance Center, and Tom I only used the fast-forward button for commercials. And, that's rare. It was great entertainment, not a bunch of useless filler.
Then there was the fanbase or lack thereof. Aaron gave it his all...heeded what the judges had to say and brought on a lot of growth...both in dance and personality. Kelly put forth every effort and gained self-esteem. Bottom line...Aaron was the better dancer. Kelly had a fanbase. Too bad.
