Are Jimmy Dean (the sausage company) and Jimmy Dean (the country vocalist) the same person?

Yes. In fact profits from his hit songs (including the Grammy winning 1962 single ''Big Bad John'') helped finance the founding of Dean's sausage company in 1969.
