What do you do on a rainy day (and don't tell me to clean!)

It seems like it's been raining forever.  We were going to play golf today but it's raining.  We thought of going fishing but it's raining!

I've played Hearts online, I've watched a few things I had on tape (except for the movie that I saved for tonight).

Guess I could finish my book.

What do you do on a day when it's been raining for a few days and you've run out of things to do?

I do what I did yesterday... try to get past level 34 of Bubblez. http://www.bigfishgames.com/online-games/2196/en_bubblez/index.html

I bought a Sophie Kinsella book yesterday to take on vacation, based on your recommendations. The Undomestic Goddess. Have you read it? It looks entertaining.

  • Yes! I've read it. I love her books. I have her newest one ''Remember Me'' to read. My favorite of Kinsella's will always be ''The Shopaholic''. I think that was her very first book. None are going to win a Pulitzer but I think they are fun, easy reads. I hope you like it! eom mags

I watch movies from cable ''On Demand'', they're free, or I watch my CBS shows ''On Demand''. Just about all the CBS shows come on my cable when ever I want to watch them, I just push the number 1 on my remote and pick whatever I wanna watch. Or I watch movies from NetFlix.

I also work puzzles and play on the computer too.

We actually had to WORK today!! Just got home and I'm beat. I'm washing clothes and gonna watch some tv. We go from NOT working to working SIX days???? They are out to get me. LOL!

  • The rain finally stopped and we went fishing. It was really windy and not so warm but we caught some fish so it was fun. Our neighbors invited us out for dinner and we had a Netflix movie to watch so I made it through the day. LOL The movie was ''Next''. It came out in 2007 and had Nicholas Cage in it (that's why I got it). No one has ever heard of it. It was pretty good......3 stars out of 5 I guess. My son has never heard of it and he always seems to know most of the movies. He said it must have gone right to DVD when it was released. Oh well, I liked it. Hey! Glad you've got work! Wish it could be spaced out a little better for your sake though. Happy Mother's Day Shirlalalala! eom mags

Unless you live in one of those horrid places like southern CA ... head to the mall!  SoCal is filled with those outdoor malls which make no sense at all.  They have big outdoor heaters so you can huddle comfortably in the winter, and air conditioning in the stores, of course, for the rest of the year.  Just not a great experience, especially if it's raining.

Or you could post a dozen topics.  :)

  • Head for the mall - HA! I think it's at least 45 minutes away. The rain finally quit and we went fishing for a few hours. Windy and I was cold but it was still fun. We took a neighbor guy who is Tom's age and a big fisherguy. Turned out to be a good day even without retail therapy! lol Oh yeah - Tom bought minnows! eom mags

We had a respite from the rain yesterday, but it is back to rainy today.    I am doing laundry, was watching some things I had taped on DVR, and am now playing here.    My plans for the rest of the day include beginning to price stuff for my garage sale this next weekend, iron some, watch some more tube and sweep and mop my kitchen and bathroom floors.   If it is still raining tomorrow by the time we get home (middle of the afternoon since we're going out to lunch to celebrate a family birthday) I will start reading The Old Man and the Sea.   The book discussion of that is going to be at MY house, so it'll probably be good if I have read it.

If I get really bored, I will find some artsy/craftsy thing to do.   That used to be so much a part of my life.    Now it has been relegated to the back burner??

  • At least you are mixing work with fun things. I didn't feel at all like cleaning anything ''The Old Man and The Sea'' huh? I don't think I ever made it through that book. I told Tom you were going to be reading that for a discussion group. He must have loved it. He kept talking about what a great book it is and he taught it when he was teaching High School English. LOL, he even offered to come to your house and lead the discussion. Maybe he should read it again cause he sure got excited that you were reading it! I was thinking of re-reading ''The Diary of Anne Frank''. eom mags
