Topic: More cookie topic! What's your all time favorite? Least favorite?

Additional Comments: I have always been a fan of Salerno Butter Cookies--even if they don't use real butter anymore. Every once in a while I get the major craving and buy a box. I still dip them in milk--even though I can no longer fit them on my pinkie finger like I used to as a kid.

My least favorite are ginger snaps, mainly because in kindergarten everyone took turns bringing the cookie treat and most of them brought the aforementioned. I got tired of them.

I haven't met very many cookies I didn't like.  One is Fig Newtons.  I never took to those things.

Chocolate chip, Ranger and snickerdoodles are my favorite homemade variety.

Windmill cookies and Maple Cream sandwiches are my favorite storebought from Dollar store.  I also love ginersnaps.

  • I like fig newtons, except for the crunch sound of the seeds in my head--if you know what I mean. There are now other flavor newtons out there, too. What are Rangers? I am really getting a cookie education here./U

I have true cookie cravings once or twice a year.  Probably once.  Shortbread is good, uh huh.  Cocoa (not chocolate!) is good.  Oreos: not good!  Oatmeal: yummy as long as it's not too sweet.  I can't drink milk so I can't discuss the dunk value.  I hear it's palatable.  :)

The only cookies I ever buy are the Nestle break-apart Turtles.   They're chocolate chip with caramel and the best cookie EVAH!    I like chocolate chip cookies the best and homemade oatmeal ones second best probably.    I hate baking cookies though.    I'm not much of a sweet eater.    I prefer popcorn when I am having a craving for something in the junk realm.

  • I've never seen the break apart turtles. I would be hooked! Popcorn is my favorite #1 munchie as well. I always crave salty-crunchies--I can eat it every day./U

I'm trying to think if I ever met a cookie I didn't like?  Is marzipan a cookie or a candy?  I don't like that.

My favorite cookie changes.  Sometimes I want chocolate chip, sometimes Oreos look extra good to me and sometimes just a plain ole' Vanilla Wafer.

Right now I would love to have some Forgotten Cookies.  They are merengue with the little chocolate chips in them.  Stick them in the oven, turn it off and forget them for a while.  They melt in your mouth!  Shoot, now I'm craving them and all I have are some lemon creme wafer cookies that I bought at the store.

  • Do you make the forgotten cookies or are they available at stores? If you make them, how about posting the recipe./U
  • I make them although I haven't for a looooong time. An elderly neighbor gave me the recipe years ago. I'm not home right now but I'll post the recipe on Monday (if I forget.....remind me) eom mags
