Topic: A Bird and a Bush

In your mind's eye, picture me giving the bird to George W. Bush.

Karen got the mail today and found out I do not get any $600 rebate check for relief or stimulating the economy. Our government can send millions to Myanmar, WHO DOES NOT WANT US THERE, and they can send billions to Iraq, but they do not feel the need to give ME a dime. Am I pissed? YOU BET!

Myanmar seizes UN aid supplies, 'not ready' to let in US

YANGON, Myanmar (AP) - Myanmar's military leaders seized aid shipments headed for cyclone survivors and told the top U.S. diplomat there Friday that they're not ready to let in American aid workers despite warnings the country is on the verge of a medical catastrophe.

Steve and I don't get any of that money either. So I completely understand and support your anger! Sometimes life just sucks! And pisses us off!!!!!

We filed jointly, but Karen made very, very little, and I'm on disability. Karen's job does not pay much, but it does have medical insurance that covers a percentage of my prescriptions which are nearly $4,000 every three months. It's people like me who are too poor to do anything other than just barely meet living expenses, who will get no help from this rebate. Thanks for your concern, but me being on disability is what screwed things up.

I'm sure you and Karen need the money. Like one of the replies said. You and Karen file your income tax jointly. Both of you deserve a rebate check.

Think of it this way. Where is the money coming from? How's it going to help the economy? It's a false front. This country is in the red. Scarlet RED.

As far as helping out Myanmar. They didn't give aid to our survivors after Hurricane Katrina? This country didn't either. If the Myanmar government doesn't want our help than we should turn around and sail home. The needy citizens of this country deserve help from this government more than the Myanmarians do. Fed Up

To quote from the article that you posted the link to:

I find it pathetic that we can't help the people in our own country.  We have homeless people, homeless children, hungry people, VETS that can't get adequate care ... the list goes on and on. 

It's time to fix what is broken here.  If we don't start NOW we will soon find that we are no longer ''the greatest nation on earth''.

The most pathetic part of that statement is what little we were able to do for our own citizens in New Orleans after that tragedy....and they were begging for aid - Weeze

Even more pathetic is that the people in New Orleans STILL need aid after all this time. The government's answer? It's time that the people move out of the FEMA trailers even though they have no where to go. eom mags
