So, I picked up a bit of random information along the way today. How much do you think it costs to rent a porta-potty by the month? I'll highlight the answer below...

$60  ...

That's less than I'd rent them for, cause I'd charge more than that just to clean one!

So, what kind of random information have you picked up lately?

Random Information I got this week:

A guy who is at least in his 60's bought a house so a friend of mine is moving.  The guy that bought her house was having an affair with the wife of one of my son's high school friends.  That puts her in the 30 - 40 year old range.

She broke his heart and broke up with him so now all he does is show up at my friend's house (she hasn't moved yet) and creep her out about ''losing the love of your life''.  BTW - he's married and his wife doesn't want to move out of the house that they are in.  I don't know if she knows about the 30 year old.  It wasn't part of the Random Information that I got.

Lunch out with the girls got me a LOT more random info but youse guys wouldn't be interested.  Small town gossip - makes you wonder what is said about you when you're not around!

We have lots of parks around here, and most have porta-potties. Since I seem to have a smaller bladder after childbirth, and since I also have a 4 year old girl... I guess you could say I'm an expert. LOL

Unfortunately, we use them quite a bit, but generally they are relatively odor-free, somewhat cleaner than you'd imagine, and pretty well ventilated. At least, the ones in our neighborhood are... And I love that they come equiped with hand sanitizer dispensers now.

We were at a park on Tuesday when the big truck pulled up to "suck out all the contents". Ewwwww! That was one of the worst smells I have ever had to endure. Of course the park was down-wind that day. What a horrible job, sucking out all the porta-potties. Ughugh

That IS valuable information you got going there....

There is a company in my neighborhood where those things go to get cleaned before delivery - next time I am up that way I'll take a picture of it for you.

Here is my valuable information for the day

This coming Sunday, in the Red Plum section of your coupons will be a coupon for a free loaf of Sarah Lee Bread.

So get up early and steal all the neighbors papers.

I found almost 2 acres of land for sale in Tennessee for only $5000

That is way more cheaper than the going rate down here

I would love to retire and move to the mountains.......

I have absolutely NO information of useful value.

We had a new roof put on our house this spring and the roofer, left a porta-john in our front yard for a week after they were through.  Odie finally called him, and he laughed and said "oh, I'll bet you'd like us to come get that".  Ya think?

I've never stepped foot in one, I can't imagine having to clean one, but I suppose they do it with tons of disinfectant and hoses.

I learned how to peel a hard boiled egg. I tried it today and it worked great!

  • Is this for real? Molly
  • Yes, I tried it today. I had older eggs though so they would have been easier to peel anyway, and I forgot how much baking soda to add so I added a tablespoon instead of a tsp. But the additional amount didn't affect the eggs' flavor. I know someone who tried it and didn't have enough umph in her breath but with mine today I really didn't need much-- far easier to me than blowing up some balloons. /JoEllen
  • I've had eggs in the frig for a week, so they're ready to boil. That's the only trick I've every known to make them easier to peel, let them age for a week first.. Molly
  • okay, I am trying this, this weekend -
  • UPDATE I just boiled a couple more eggs. This time it didn't work very well-- blew & blew-- nothing. The difference is this time the eggs cracked slightly while boiling. SO my guess is if there are any cracks on the sides of the eggs, it won't work. They peeled really nice though. /JoEllen
  • I, too, blew an egg this evening. I may or may not confess to my husband. He loves egg salad ... Molly

That seems really cheap to me too!    I wouldn't clean one for nuttin'.

Did you know that the world's largest copper mine (I saw this on How Do They Do It) 2 ½ miles across, and ¾ mile deep?   It is so big, it can be seen from the space shuttle in outer space.

  • I've been there and it's HUGE! /JoEllen

That info would have been very useful when we had 6 people living in a 1-bathroom house.  "You boys go use the green bathroom!"

Here's some info for Abra:  The same JCP ads I get in the mail can be gotten online.  www.jcp.com/storeads

And now I'm off to use mine ...
