The office cubicle made it's debut in 1968. Up until then most offices just held rows of desks.

  • Wow! That late huh? That's the year I got married. I don't know why I thought cubicles started during WWII. Learn something new everyday. Thanks Rusty! eom mags
  • I'll be darn....the exact year I picked. I was thinking late 60s/early70s plus I remember people, especially my grandmother, talking about the cubicle and decided to pick the year I graduated from H.S. and started college. :)Tori

Okay, if we're talking enclosed "mini office" I'm going to say 1968 bcause I remember a lot of talk about them when I was in college. Seems like it was a new idea at the work place.

If we're talking a partition between work stations at a long table then I'll say 1928.

  • The book is talking about the mini office, not single tables with blinds in place. I will try to ind a picture of which one we are talking about. - Rusty

I would guess about ..... 1920, because when the stock market crashed, I'll bet they had them on Wall Street in the 30's.
