Additional Comments: Thanks to everyone who responded with suggestions above. The day I posted the kitten went right in the middle of the living room. I took him up to where the box is and showed it to him and he immediately went to it and gave it a try. One accident later, and he's finding his way to the box really well. We took him to the vet yesterday and he's in great health, but younger than we were told by the shelter. The vet is only putting him at about 7 weeks. No wonder he didn't know what to do with a litter box. He so affectionate and sweet and seems to always want to be around people. My daughter is so happy and she's doing so well taking care of him. I swore up and down I would never get another pet after what we went through with our two cats, but I'm so glad we did. Thanks again for all the suggestions!

Message: Kittens are so wonderful. I'm fostering a litter of seven right now, and when I go into their room and they surround me, and the sound of purring is deafening, I'm in heaven and all seems right in the world.

That's great news. I'm sure you will all be so happy. Nothing like a kitty to bring out all the love in your heart. Good that your daughter is doing so well taking care of it.

AS heartbreaking as it is to lose a pet I've always adopted almost immediately. When Whiskey died my Vet called 2 weeks later and we got Hoochie and Coochie. Coochie wasn't even 10 when we lost her but Harrison was waiting for us. They truly help to heal your heart.
I'm so happy for you and that lucky little guy for having you and your family as his own.

Message: A kitten is definitely the best medicine for anything in my opinion. :-) I am glad yours is using the box. Maybe you should put him in it several times a day until he quits having accidents. I can tell you all are totally in love.
