Additional Comments:

Was there a dry eye in the house when Abby realized she was "back"? I think most of us know that with a traumatic event we sometimes lose ourselves.

She does seem to believe that there is a new life for her.

Tracey is still a loon.

I was not impressed with Liz. She almost sounded like a biotch when talking about the black team having to vote someone off.

I can't help but wonder why Daniel or Amanda wasn't voted off. Abby must have really pled her case that she was ready to go.

Any time now, one of the booted should be coming back. (I think, based on history)

What did you all think?

I finally got BL watched.   I had already seen on TV when we were still in Branson that Abby was the one booted off.    I was so glad it was HER decision.    And that she is still losing at home.    Yea!    I couldn't put BL on the DVR because I was already taping the two dancing shows, so I set my old VCR in the BR to tape it.   For some reason, it only taped the weigh-in portion of the show.    But I'm glad I got to at least see that part.   Sniff, sniff.

yeah the powers that be can make Tracy the bad guy - it doesnt make her faces and bugged eyes and expressions any less Tracey.

I think that Shey and Daniel have intimidated the rest of the black team to keep them alive.  The black team better knock them out before they take them down together.  Daniel had his chance the first time and his current issues didn't just happen.  I am not getting why Abby and the blond chicka are so devoted to them.  If it were just the three of them - the blond wouldnt have a chance.

I am a bit surprised by Liz and how she and Tracey have chumed up.

My current fav - Rudy.

Hello AMC board.  I usually post on Days board and lurk here from time to time.  I just wanted to mention that I have a really good friend who was on Biggest Loser.  I don't want to mention names for fear of getting her into trouble.  Ut oh, I've already said, "her".

You must remember Biggest Loser is a reality TV show.  Not everything that appears on the show is actually what happens.  Bob and Jillian, both openly gay, are scripted actors.  The do not come up with their own workout regimens for the show.  The show produces them.  The also have scripts, actual lines they have to learn for the show.  Most of what happens on the ranch is cut out.

When contestants weigh in and the dramatic weight gain occurs,  they have contestants "drink water" prior to weigh in.  Weigh-ins do not happen "live" but contestants are weighed before filming.

At the ranch, there is excessive "cussing" F-this, F-that.  They are really raunchy!!  Each contestant has their role they play.  The season with Vicky for example, she wasn't as bad as the TV made her seem.

Everything on TV is scripted.  Don't let it fool you.

The best part of Biggest Loser is they actually lose the weight!  For my friend, I am so happy.

I have inside pictures of the last Biggest Loser finale I could post.

  • This is the OLTL board. I was aware of most of what you posted. It's clear with the weigh-ins that they are weighed beforehand then on the scale in a particular order for the suspense. It's the same with the voting. On this board we seem to be more interested in the people and personalities than the actual weight loss. (Charlotte)
  • I'm quite well aware (from my hubby who worked in film/TV) that all so-called reality TV is scripted. I don't watch Biggest Loser for any other reason than to gain some valuable health/nutrition information. I also cheer on the 'losers' in their weight loss. I'm not into the drama and crazy behaviour of some of the guests who behave like a bunch of 5 year olds. On an aside, I'm not sure why you felt the need to mention that Bob and Jillian are openly gay - their sexuality has absolutely nothing to do with the show whatsoever and that's not something that is anyone's business. This is who they are and I don't need to know their sexual orientation any more than I would need to know yours./Cutey

Did anyone catch why Abby wasn't in the van with the family? I think I heard her say she was sick, but didn't she say the 3 of them were going to the ER?

  • She said she was ill and I think she said she was taken to the ER. I don't recall the how tos (why children in the car or was it even the same trip). eom/WE
  • Thanks. I guess I'm not the only one who was confused. (Charl)

Abby is one strong woman. She's been thru such horrible circumstances and lost herself for a while. It's so wonderful to watch her life begin again and she is healing inside and out. I think BL did wondrous things for her and that's a blessing.

In all fairness, I think Daniel should have gone home last night but Abby must have really wanted to go. My heart aches for Shay, what a horrible life she came from. I hope she will not only lose weight but that she'll also find a therapist to help her heal from her deep emotional scars.

Tracy is still nuts and Liz is really getting on my nerves. Why is she so mean the last couple of weeks?

    Replies: (list all replies)

  • I agree with everything you said. It was a sad show in parts. Between Shea and Abby they were so genuine. Then there were Liz and Tracey. I haven't noticed Tracey only being mean the last 2 weeks, to me,she has been a pain the whole time.(Charl)
  • I meant Liz being mean the last couple weeks. Maybe she's taking getting into Tracy's crazy pills. lol! ... suzyb

I had the kleenex handy through Abby and Shay. Abby has such unbelievable strength and love. If they bring someone back it better be Abby. I hope she ends up being the big winner at the finale.

I just hurt inside so much for Shay when she said she was shut in the closet when her mother had men in the room. What a horrible, horrible childhood existence that must have been. I cannot even fathom it. Even Jillian was shocked. (And did you notice--Jillian didn't swear this week! Probably a lot of viewers complained.)

Tracey –– I hope she is gone soon. Looking at her makes me want to poke my eyes out with a fork and stick cotton swabs in my ears.

I think Danny was right when he said that Daniel had spent more time at the ranch than anybody. After two bad weeks, I would have voted him off. He's had his second chance and then some.

  • I'm hoping that its Abby who comes back, too. I was trying to think who has left that might be doing better than she is. (Charlotte)

I think Abby really pleaded her case and the team was really, really torn.  I was bawling my eyes out through most of the show.

As for Tracey, she is one narcissistic biotch!  Everything is always about her.  Her confessionals are so over-the-top and drive me nuts! (and almost having me running from the room and to the fridge - yikes!) I don't know how (or why) her team puts up with her.

Liz is not far behind Tracey IMO.  She needs to bring her comments down a few notches.  What these two don't realize is that their day will come (and when it does, I for one will do the Ding-Dong the Biotch is Gone Happy Dance).

I'm really wondering what's up with Daniel and why he's not losing like he should.  He looks like he's pouring everything into his workouts with minimal results.  I wonder if his body is telling him that it's had enough for now (remember, he's really lost about 170 pounds already).

  • It was painful to watch the voting. I hope Jillian works with Daniel to figure out what's going on with him. (Charlotte)
  • Cutey I think it was Jillian who explained that in a program like this where there needs to be discovery of the whys, emotions will rise. When they do it's very difficult to see big results even though the workout and diet are the same as when they lose more. Once there's a revelation, like Abby's, they need to try and deal with those emotions or chancce them hindering their loss. eom/WE

Liz isn't on the same list as Tracy but she's getting on my nerves. A whole team, some of whom you are friends, gets your wrath? Not right.

Abby really did plead her case and really did feel she should go home because she could survive and lose. What an inspiration this heroic woman is. It also seemed that trip home for a week and seeing everyone's support let her know she'd be fine. LOVE this woman and can't wait to see her at the finale. Once again she sacrificed for someone (ones: Amanda and Danny) else!

Danny and Amanda's emotions are getting in the way of real weight loss. Shay has to watch that, too. Daniel is really using his I-can-do-anything mode to his pure benefit. I dare say Allen as well but Daniel has more to lose and the more he loses the more gung ho he is. Yes!!

    Replies: (list all replies)

  • That's how it 'usually' goes, one team pitted against the other. That's why I was so glad they didn't do that in the begiinning. Now it's clear that it's team against team. Good point re: Abby learning from her trip home. (Charl)
