America got it right again (well according to how I would have voted.)   I haven't called in a vote the whole season.   Bad me.   I really wanted Jason to stay another week rather than Brooke.   I like him a bit better.    His voice is very pleasing (thought not very strong.)   I wonder if Jason has had much voice training?    Also, he has the cute factor going on.

The two Davids will be the finalists I think, but Syesha sure has done great the last couple of weeks.   I will be stunned if David Cook doesn't win it though.

I was disappointed that Neil sang that song, only because I'd already heard him do it online.   He is coming to TULSA!    We have the date the tickets go on sale on our calendar and hope to get them and see him again.    :-D   We thought we'd have to drive all the way to OKC to see him and that wasn't as appealing to us.   Soooooo, now we'll just have a couple of hours to drive and will spend the night.    YEA!    I just hope he does more of the old stuff than from his new album!

Oh my. It seems like we are going backwards. The Group Number had started to get good since IGB and they really started performing better together. Today it was like the first time they sang together. It was terrible! They were out of sync in movement, the range was too low for some so that either you couldn't hear one of a duo or in Brooke and Syesha's case, a couple of notes in the song-- SONG sung BLUE--and the ones who had a bit of a solo who decided to do their own thing, mostly Archie, were way off in pitch and tempo. Also, David A. turned "Cracklin' Rosie" into another ballad. Can't that kid sing anything else? He's a kid! Doesn't he listen to rock music?! David C. was the only one who did the songs justice, that is when it wasn't too low that you couldn't hear him sing. I feel so bad that Neil Diamond had to witness that.

One thing I have a question about. This is the third (I think) time that they sang a song in the group number medley that was just done by one of the contestants the night before. I realize that the group number must be set up way ahead of time before the contestants decide what song they will sing. So if a song is already set up in the group number, why is it on the song list for the contestants to pick from. That just doesn't make sense when there are so many other songs for them to choose. This also was the third time that Jason started the group number. No one else can do it?

I was glad that Ryan corrected things about last night and said, regarding Paula, that rumors were false. I know she can have her strange moments but this was not one of them. Nigel through them all off by doing this and he screwed up the show by throwing in that sudden change. He should have just left it to critique after both songs. Either that or they should have gone an extra half hour.

Now that my rant is done--I liked the FORD commercial a lot better than last week, Natashia is a lot better than Leona, IMO, and Neil did a great performance! I hate the phone calls but loved the one for Simon from his first crush. That was funny but sweet at the same time. You mean Simon was once 9 years old? LOL!

Eliminations--As soon as I saw Jason come out, I figured he was safe then remembered that Ryan called Chikezie out first and sent him to the stools. So I still had hope. Then Ryan dashed that hope by sending Jason to the couches. Well, then it was easy to figure that it was the two girls together but Ryan never said "The Bottom 2". Later I noticed that Syesha was the top one in the Dial Idol predictions so that could be why Ryan didn't call them the "Bottom 2". It was another thing to fool you. It seems AI is all about tricks this year doesn't it? I had hoped that Syesha would stay and she did. She is really improving. I agree with who went home even though I was hoping it was Jason first.

I hope next week's theme will be much better for the contestants as they will be able to pick something that they actually know.

  • So sorry. They did not do a song tonight in the group number that was done last night by one of the contestants. I got two of the songs mixed up. But they have done it in the past maybe twice so what I said still goes. ~ eom. Linda
  • Linda, I was thinking about the group singing problem last night myself and think I have it narrowed down some. David A sings HIS way period. And sometimes that doesn't flow with the others. And I noticed Syesha was OFF but that was probably a ''harmony'' problem. Whatever, they (with two exceptions) sure haven't sung well together. Doesn't make much sense to me since they can all sing well. Gail
  • Thanks, Gail. I thought that it was more David A.'s problem in that one part. He seemed to be trying to make it his own and you can't do that in a group sing. It did seem different with Syesha like timing or trying to harmonize. But David A. did seem to be the main problem. I agree with you there. Thanks for being so observant! At least it wasn't just my ears, LOL! ~ eom. Linda

I can't believe Jason wasn't in the bottom 2, but I'm not surprised Brooke finally got the boot. I liked her in the beginning, but she doesn't "wear well." This was the first group number I didn't FF through, and they really are bad. Strange year.

I've heard so much about Paula today, and even if she was sober, with the money she's making being there, she should have been paying attention. Yes, they threw them a curve ball but this isn't rocket science and the other 2 figured it out with no problem.

  • I forgot to add, Brooke tried yet again to start over. I understand she was emotional, but that's a really bad habit...Blink
  • Brooke also did it during Hollywood week so that makes four times now. Well, maybe 3 1/2 since she didn't succeed this time because of time limit. ~ eom. Linda
