Subject: I agree; I had insurance once and fortunately didn't need it for anything catastrophic; however, I find it hard to swallow that in practically the same breath I'm told of bad news I also get asked, ''how do you expect to pay for all this?''. With insurance, you file the paperwork and worry about any payments you owe afterward. Even without insurance, in serious, non-elective situations, the patient is offered advocates, counsellors, etc., not practically shaken upside down for the last penny to tumble out of their pocket before even consulting with someone in a real office about what the treatment might even involve. It's just too ridiculous (and convenient for Ramsey) for even my soap-numbed brain to accept. -gg
