Subject: Yeah, I thought that the AA thing was more for Gigi than the real thing. I never thought Brody was a real deal alcoholic, but maybe he is. It would make more sense. I too want Jess to fall back in love with him again, and I really do want her amnesia to be permanent. It's not as brutal as with Marty, who knew nothing. At least Jess has 18 years to build on and people to help her get up to speed on some key things. I do find it odd that Brody is completely out of Gigi and Shanes lives now since he was with Jessica, which is odd because they all pretty much live at the same place and now are really part of the same extended family. /eom/ Gallagher

Subject: I also don't think Brody is a classic alcoholic -- he was a binge drinker trying to blot out painful memories. It's probably fine for him to drink in moderation, but given the stress of ''losing'' Jess, he needs to watch it and his friends need to keep a watchful eye as well. I would love it if Gigi and Shane could be part of Brody's support system now. ~ Rhonda

Subject: Maybe I'm creating something in my mind, but I could have sworn that Brody realized he had a drinking problem and joined AA. I know that he did it at first for Gigi, but didn't he meet Charlie at one of the meetings and Charlie convinced him to continue going? Heaven knows I can be wrong, but Brody once drank heavily to relieve his pain. I wouldn't be surprised if he turned to alcohol again, especially since no one is there for him. Jessica's family is rightly focused on Jessica and John, well, SuperCop is too busy trying to distract Marty from his sniffing around Natalie to give Brody a second thought. Wanda

Subject: I'm not sure if Brody decided he was an alcoholic or not, but I do remember he partly went to AA because Gigi requested it. However, if he had a real problem, it wasn't treated as seriously as Charlie's alcoholism. In fact, I think one of the main points in sending Brody to AA was so he could hear Charlie's secret about Jared not really being a Buchanan and having these 2 new characters bond over something and create a friendship. As it is, Brody hasn't had any relapses or follow-up from his PTSD either. And it's the nature of soaps that characters from previous stories don't always interact. Brody should be a friend who Gigi can talk to, or Shane can hang out with, but with the filming schedule on OLTL these days (by set), I doubt they could get a scene together. Gigi rarely even gets scenes with Viki, who has been her mentor since Gigi came on the show (and Gigi even lives on Viki's property). And tptb probably feel Shane has enough attention from Rex and Rex's enabler Bo that he doesn't need Brody. But it happens with all the characters as they move from story to story. - Emily
