I may be over-thinking, but Bo get electrocuted on the fence reminded me of when his then-wife Didi was killed by being pushed into an electric fence by faux Bo, Patrick London.

Message: I remembered Didi's death, too. I thought it was in poor taste that electrocution was used as the means to go back in time. Didi sacrificed her life to save Bo. Her death was so violent; it the first tragic death I saw on OLTL, prior to Megan's death. In this story, electrocution was just a plot device. I thought it was tacky.
If I remember correctly, it was the reverse. Faux Bo (Patrick London) was holding Didi hostage and was going to kill Real Bo. She shoved him against the electric fence but since he was holding her, she was shocked too.
He died almost immediately and she later died at the hospital after saying her goodbyes to Bo.
