Topic: what's more irritating: Dallas or return to Mendorra?

Additional Comments: I was soooo hoping Thalia's rescue would occur off-camera, but no such luck. Meanwhile, my hand is itching to slap little Miss Dallas's smug mug. Why is this character back? Are they just throwing a bone to Bob Woods's wife or is this supposed to generate interest in Nora and Clint's rather moribund relationship?

Is RC writing these SLs? I'm looking for RC's twists, where he inserts 'moral dilemmas' in SLs that have people talking, such as which adoptive or biological parent is better.

Maybe there's one in Mendorra, about a father-daughter relationship, but I don't know what or why Dallas is on the canvas.

I found the Mendorra SL not as bad this time.  It's moving at a good pace and there have been some funny moments.    Sarah and Christian seem to be enjoying it, which helps.

Mendorra was among the worst storylines on any soap, ever.  Dallas doesn't even begin to come close.

As to the why, yes, it's to revive Clint and Nora (yawn).  But I like Dallas.  I can't stand Nora, and I really enjoyed it yesterday when Dallas didn't deny coming back for Clint.  Don't worry.  I'm sure Dallas will be gone soon enough.

Gosh, it's hard to decide.  They are equally annoying.  I see absolutely no reason for Dallas to remain in Llanivew (and on my screen) now that the actress is no longer playing Renee (who she made equally annoying).  For me, it's that chirpy accent and the syrupy way she acts around Clint.  It's like the character and the actress are trying too hard.

I ff almost all of Mendorra except I found Talia getting in what's-his-fname's face (her husband) kind of funny.  Too bad he can't follow her to Llanview because the actress actually has a bit of acting chemistry with the guy.  Can't say that about KdlR.

Side note: I've seen a couple pictures of RSW when he was in Vietnam, and his son sure looks like a taller chip off the old block, doesn't he?

Nothing is more irritating that the Mendorra story. I wish they would all stay there with the power permanently going out so we wouldn't have to watch them.

I hate that Dallas character, mostly because she turns Nora into an insecure twit.  I want to slap Nora every single time she asks 'so, are you leaving?'.  Why is my Nora reduced to this?  At least her fights with Lindsay had some history.  Now she is just a teenager marking her territory.  I find it pointless especially if the territory is Clint.  I say Nora should dump Clint and the rest of the Buchanans and move on.

Oh and Bo is so fond of Dallas now that they should just do a Clint/Dallas/Bo triangle and leave Nora out of it.  As for Dallas, the actress is fine, but the character does nothing for me.  She is a plot point and a bad one at that.

  • You are exactly right! Every additional moment spent as the Buchanan landlord and live-in attorney means Nora is losing brain cells -- enough! Does she even work any more? We never see her in her office or interacting professionally. Why isn't John discussing his suspicians about Todd with the ADA? -- Rhonda eom
  • Nora the DA has all but disappeared. Moving into Asa's mansion was the beginning of the end for Nora as an independent woman. Now all she does is sit at home and sip tea. ladfan
  • sip tea? more like knock back bourbon with Clint! That's not the Nora I know. -- Rhonda eom
  • Are 'Dallas' and Bo real life husband and wife? I read that somewhere. Luna
  • Yes, Luna, they are husband and wife IRL. eom VeeJay
  • Interesting (to me at least) factoid about them. Bob Woods and Loyita Chapel were married for 8 years, divorced for 4, and then remarried 15 years ago. //SqueezeMe

They needed to re-establish the 'eeck' factor of 'all switch partners' they lost when Lindsay left. Or maybe C&N&B need a forth for Bridge?
