Topic: Isn't Todd *raping* Marty again by playing with her memories?

Additional Comments: Does Todd actually think that Marty will forgive him for misleading her memories of the rape? Isn't Todd in fact "raping" Marty again?! That is cruel.

This SL shows just how delusional and misguided Todd is .... he really needs psychological help .... and I find his rantings and lies painful to watch and listen too ....
The "dream sequence" is really interesting ... Marty seems to be alternating between complete knowledge and complete 'amnesia' ... like she is trying to block out the truth because it is too painful to face!
But I am impatient with the fact that John did not reveal the truth to her about Ramsay and Todd.

Message: Rin Tim Tim,
I agree. This story line is cruel and based on the previews I read and the head writer's attitude, it is about to get much worse.
Spoiler: Don't scroll down
if you don't want to know.
*Apparently the fact that Marty doesn't remember anything about Todd's involvement of her rape, even though she vividly remembers the rape makes it okay to explore a relationship that may include romantic feelings, according to this writer. He feels that it would be wrong if she remembered, but being left in the dark for now may make it okay. OKAY? I can't believe that they are going to go there! No, I take it back, I do believe it! To me it isn't all that far from: "Well, she didn't struggle, she must have liked it." The fact is that Marty does remember the rape and it still scares her to death. Why in this day and age with all the education about violence towards women do you get a storyline like this? I wonder how this would hold up in court? Haven't there been cases of doctor's and dentists doing this to their female patients without their knowledge. Did the judge or jury deem this okay because the women had no memory of what happened to them?
This is just plain sick!

Message: I think Todd's version of the truth is already coming back to haunt him. Marty is starting to remember and he couldn't talk her into believing that her dream was just that. And she dreamt that Todd was in the room. Now, for story purposes she's misconstrued the meaning. But she's going to remember and nothing Todd does will stop it. And it will be fun to watch when she does.

Message: Todd definitely thinks he will get rid of his guilt. He never thinks logically. What does he expect to happen? Will he "keep" Marty with him indefinitely? Once, she recovers, she will want to leave. Also, if she gets her memory back, she will be furious with Todd. Not only for lying to her about his role in the rape, but by keeping her away from loved ones. Plus, Starr and Blair will be even more against him. I know in his own warped way, he thinks he is doing something good.

Message: I have stopped listening to the dialoug in these scenes. But when it first started I watched to see where the heck it could be going, and I surmised that Todd is trying to make himself 'clean' and really thinks if Marty cant remember, he never did it.It seems to fit his warped and sick logic.

Message: Certainly, we the audience see this, but Todd clearly doesn't. Typically, he justifiies his selfish actions (hiding Marty from John and Cole), by playing the role of protector. But the truth will out. And Marty (I hope) will let him know exactly what he has done to her -- again. And he'll have to deal with it somehow.

Message: I think they'll be a double whammy when she and Cole re-unite. I would NEVER forgive anyone who kept me from my son!
