My guess is that the gay wedding is the last of this fad, and things will settle down to the point that Kyle, Fish and possibly Nick are the only characters on the show with any gay-related storylines.

It's a shame that the actress playing reincarnated Mel has been wasted on this. It was fun to see her occasionally as bit characters tormenting Dorian.

Not if they're Catholic.  Those boys marry for life.

  • Catholicism didn't stop AMC's Tom Cudahy from marrying two-time divorcée Erica Kane. I've heard that she lied to him about getting an annulment from Phil Brent. Tom went on to divorce Erica and three other women.

Garry Shandling was talking about gay divorce on the Tonight Show earlier this week, and I had the same thought- will OLTL cover gay divorce eventually?

    My answer: Probably, eventually.

It wouldn't be a real daytime soap opera, if they don't get married and divorced at least three times.  Personally, I can hardly wait for the divorced, gay couple to be stuck on a desert island together, with their new spouses sitting (or bonding) back home thinking they're both dead.  This, of course, would soon be followed by one of them getting amnesia, yet strangely still attracted to their ex-spouse who they've forgotten treated them so badly.   Also, how 'bout the evil, gay twin who comes to town and plots to sleep with his brother's husband?  Sounds good to me.   In fact, maybe that one could be done as some kind of fantasy sequence mirroring Edwardian times.   Gays like E.M. Forster.   Sounds good to me!

  • Right, Ulie! And of course, one of the divorces should be because somebody didn't tell his husband that he got someone else to inseminate the surrogate because he knew how much the hubby wanted a child of his own.

Wouldn't the logical progression be gay honeymoons and gay mortgages before gay divorces, maybe with a little gay infidelity in between? Then we could have a gay custody battle, gay parents reuniting over a child's medical crisis, and a gay parent's worst nightmare of teenage pregnancy.

  • I'll be tuned out as with many other viewers by then.
  • Really? If you're not tuning out already due to the gay love triangle and gay weddings, why would anyone take your warning seriously?
  • I've been watching less and less of the show lately. I'm thinking this whole gay wedding story and everything will eventually fade out and we can go back to having soap storylines. Will you still be watching once the gay storys and gay agendas fade out? I notice you only post about the gay storys and gay characters and nothing else.
  • If the show's on the verge of losing you, it would be wise to keep me hooked. Of course, if you don't follow through and quit watching, it's a win-win (assuming that you have disposable income).
  • This show is going under. People are not going to stay tuned. The writters are not giving viewers what they want. Have you even heard of this show before all the gay stuff came about? There ARE other characters on the show besides Kyle, Fish, and Nick.
  • I am not the topic of discussion, but yes, I watched OLTL long before it began to focus on a serial rapist and the women who love him.
  • ITA I think They are getting Cancelled.

Probably.  Soaps always 'deal' w/relationships & breakups--this shouldn't be any different.
