My guess is that the gay wedding is the last of this fad, and things will settle down to the point that Kyle, Fish and possibly Nick are the only characters on the show with any gay-related storylines.
It's a shame that the actress playing reincarnated Mel has been wasted on this. It was fun to see her occasionally as bit characters tormenting Dorian.

Not if they're Catholic. Those boys marry for life.

Garry Shandling was talking about gay divorce on the Tonight Show earlier this week, and I had the same thought- will OLTL cover gay divorce eventually?
My answer: Probably, eventually.

Message: It wouldn't be a real daytime soap opera, if they don't get married and divorced at least three times. Personally, I can hardly wait for the divorced, gay couple to be stuck on a desert island together, with their new spouses sitting (or bonding) back home thinking they're both dead. This, of course, would soon be followed by one of them getting amnesia, yet strangely still attracted to their ex-spouse who they've forgotten treated them so badly. Also, how 'bout the evil, gay twin who comes to town and plots to sleep with his brother's husband? Sounds good to me. In fact, maybe that one could be done as some kind of fantasy sequence mirroring Edwardian times. Gays like E.M. Forster. Sounds good to me!

Wouldn't the logical progression be gay honeymoons and gay mortgages before gay divorces, maybe with a little gay infidelity in between? Then we could have a gay custody battle, gay parents reuniting over a child's medical crisis, and a gay parent's worst nightmare of teenage pregnancy.
