Topic: In all Serialness, Why do You REALLY think Lanviews Gals Obsess Over Todd/John?

Id like to have a semi-seious discussion about this topic whiich probably focuses on the characters of: Todd, John, Dr Marty, Blair and Tea. (Maybe Natalie too...because of John)
I know all the REAL WORLD reasons: They are the man characters, the writers have to write for them and put them together and TRIANGLES are (in today's writer's minds) the crux of Soaps etc etc etc...
But psychologically, in the minds of these chicks, why would they spend the better part of their lives obsessing over these two dudes???
I mean, I like Jonathan McBain alot and can kinda see his good qualities...loyal, faithful, a cop, a good guy, likes to save gal's lives like every day...but, is he SO special that all these chicks obsess over him all their lives?????????????????????????????????????????
And Toddly T Manning...I love him...Alot...but he doesn't even have John's good qualities. He is ARGUABLY abusive and he is homicidal...he is not faithful...or honest...and, oh yeah, he is so loony crazy he should be weaving baskets all day and every day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Oh, and I almost forgot - he is a Rapist! (When you almost forget 'Rape' on your list of bad qualities about a guy you know hes no Angel lol!!!
SOOOOOO, IN CONCLUSION....Why do YALL think Natalie, Party, Blair and Tea dig them so much.
ME???????????? I think these 5 women share a common quality of all being Damaged in some way, and they have alwyas seen John and Todd as their way to ''Fix'' themselves...
Does anyone else think thats kinda sad?
What do yall think about these gals?

I've seen this too often in real life- most women will throw themselves at rich men, they want that money, they don't care if he's ugly, 106 years old, or a serial killer, they want that money. Women like John because he's a hero, he puts the creeps behind bars and he's protective of the women he loves, maybe a little too protective.

John for me, is easier to understand the attraction. There is a kind of Eyeore complex to him. He's sabotaged every relationship he's ever been in I think, because he doesn't think he's worth it or he thinks he's bad luck, and many on this board would agree with him. I think he tends to draw either women with either low self esteem themselves or a rescue complex that is even greater than the one he has himself. That may be part of why he seems so obsessed with rescuing damsels in distress, that deep down inside the person he most wants to rescue is himself, but he can't as long as he thinks he's not worth rescuing, so the cycle goes on and on. Anyway, there's enough of the wounded puppy dog in him to draw women to the trap, and by the time they are starting to get the jaws open, he's chewed his leg free anyway and then he wants to run from them.
Todd is harder for me, because he is just vicious. He's the untameable horse, maybe. He bites the hand of any woman who dares to try to rescue him from himself and maybe it's just that challenge of how tame him without getting bitten or kicked or killed in the process that keeps them coming back for more. I guess it takes a strong women, someone largely untameable themselves like Blair, who has hung in there the longest. I don't like untamed horses. I have been bucked off, stepped on, kicked, and had an abrupt encounter with a low branch where I swear the animal was laughing at me. Therefore I avoid these encounters at all cost.
