Topic: Why didn't Starr ask Dorian for help?

Additional Comments: To me, the most logical thing for Starr to have done is go to Dorian for help. Whether or not you believe abortion is morally right, it is legal, and I think Dorian would've helped Starr obtain one. All she had to do was say they were going on some shopping excursion -- no questions asked. Of course, Blair might never have forgiven Dorian for not telling her, but Dorian often doesn't consider the consequences of her actions.

Starr doesn't like Dorian very much and anyone who knows Dorian knows that she cannot be trusted. Why on earth would Starr confide in a woman who is a pathological liar and troublemaker?

  • Dorian is certainly all that you say, but when she's in your corner, there is no fiercer defender! I agree with Wanda that Starr doesn't trust the adults in her life enough. Probably the person she trusts most is Viki, but Viki would try to talk her into confiding in Blair, so she can't go that route. -- Rhonda eom
  • I disagree that Starr doesn't like Dorian much. She loves Dorian. Starr has always been capable of loving complicated, not-very-nice people. Look who her father is. Wanda
  • Rhonda, I thought about Viki when I made my post, and I agree with your assessment. Wanda

Starr doesn't trust the adults in her life, pure and simple.  Dorian probably would have helped Starr, but there would also be a possibility that Dorian would go to Blair.  And as long as no adults know about the baby, Starr can protect Cole by holding to the story that they didn't have sex.  If she tells Dorian that she's pregnant, there's a risk of the truth coming out.

You're right, it would've been perfect, and in character, for Dorian to assist Starr.  And Starr knows that her Aunt Dorian wouldn't judge her.  The whole Langston thing is proof that, when it comes to teen girls, she's practical, caring, and non-judgemental.  In fact, look at how great she was when Kelly first came to town in the early-mid 80's.

Of course, if Dorian had been involved we never would've had Cole's mad dash to AC and the reuniting of the young lovers, etc. etc. etc.
