Topic: What I'd Like to See with Starr and Cole

Additional Comments:

He and Starr will feel the pressure of now having to hold down crummy jobs to make the rent.  They'll have to pay bills and decide together where the little money they have gets spent first.  She'll have to get prenatal care at a free clinic (do they still have a bit of a wait to see a doctor?).  These kids will have to look over their shoulders wondering how close they are to being found.  They won't be able to trust anyone.  I'd like to see them end up hating each other in the end.  Reality can be a smack in the face to kids who think they know it all.

What I would like to see with Starr and Cole is that Starr finally gets her brain back and tells Cole he's being selfish, stupid and unrealistic and that it's her body and she is not ready to have a baby.  THAT would be refreshing, instead of this podStarr and her blind faith in the moron Cole!

You really think that Vicki, Dorian or Blair won't find out & help them out?

That would be wonderfully realistic, and would serve as a fine cautionary tale to the teen audience over the summer. But I can't see the writers going that route. The writers' ideas of "realistic" involve stealing babies, folks coming back from the dead, Al Holden morphing into Michael McBain etc. UGH.

Highlight to read spoiler and commentary: I read that Starr and Cole will have an accident, and Starr will lose the babay. But will Cole die in the accident, too? I also read where RC never wanted Starr to be pregnant (it does take the character's SLs in another direction), that Starr's pregnancy evolved during the strike.

  • That's comforting news about RC. Starr being pregnant is so not where this story should have gone. Wanda Wolek

They will have either an accident or Todd find them before they get a chance to go through these difficult problems.  At least I hope so.  This is the worst storyline I've seen in years and I cannot wait for it to be over. I would like Starr to break up with Cole permanently.  These two were way too young for this kind of thing and although it happens to kids sometimes, I don't want to watch this particular trainwreak with these two kids.  Cole particularly is on my last nerve.  He is so stupid, he thinks that this running away will work for them.  He is totally showing his immaturity and his selfishness.  Starr has a loving family, and the girl clearly is not ready to be a mother. She needs to finish high school and be a normal teen.  He just sees his own selfish need to have a family of his own, and while I can understand that, he just isn't being realistic, plus the fact that this actor doesn't make me feel that sorry for him. The whole thing just isn't working!

  • I agree on all counts -- it's clear that beyond everything else, Starr doesn't want to be a mother at this stage in her life and for her best friend and boyfriend to pressure her into it and refuse to acknowledge Starr's very conflicted feelings about being pregnant really bothers me. As you say, Cole is being grossly selfish and while a good actor could make me sympathize with his desire for a family and sense of belonging, this very inept performer only makes me want to shake him and shout,
  • Oh, but this creates ''drama''. Blech! Wanda Wolek

My first choice is that Starr had a false positive on her pee stick.  Second choice is that she miscarries before their misadventure goes too far.  In other words, I want this baby story to end, like yesterday.  Then Cole and Starr can blame each other, hate each other, and split up.

And then the role of Cole can be recast.

  • Back at ya, Wanda. I don't know why I can't stand this actor, but it may have something to do with what my in-laws had a tendency to say--'he has a face you'd love to punch.' eom/sea

That sounds good.......or we could go with my idea which involves Cole's death (or recast).

  • You crack me up. Hey, maybe Cole can take some dead end job that provides life insurance, and then he dies and Starr gets enough money from the insurance to go to school. Or Cole could be recast. Wanda Wolek
