According to Commissioner Bo, the official cause of death was poisoning. Mitch was cremated. The evidence pointed to both Jess and Todd. I think they both confessed too. Todd stole the evidence from the LPD evidence room.

Later on, Commissioner Bo said because someone stole all the evidence, he was closing the case.
