I remember the conversation during the Asa's funeral episodes last August but I don't think the Victor mentions were ever seriously intended to go anywhere. IIRC, the conversation went something like this: Dorian says I killed Victor right before a commercial break (they also used it in promos BTW) only to come back after the break and say that she obviously didn't since they just saw Victor a few years ago...assuming he really was Victor at all.
Ron Carlivati seems to do that a lot-- planting little *easter egg* mentions of past plot points. He also did it in the Paris TX story where Marcie was supposed to be going to the town in Argentina where Tina went over the waterfall. Or Max wanting Blair to run away to Argentina with him. Or Jared's laundry list of factoids from Asa's biography trying to prove he knew Duke at Whaton.
Personally, I don't think that's such a great idea as it does tend to raise viewer's expectations for some sort of follow up. It's kind of an unwritten rule in soaps when characters start getting *mentionitis* of a certain character it generally means they are coming back but Ron Carlivati seems to just toss them out there right and left.
I don't think they'll be going back to the Victor stuff except maybe in the most peripheral way as part of Allison's secret and I don't think they should. Malone's undeading of Victor and his Heart of a Lord story was one of the absolute lowest points in OLTL history. There's also no way of undoing the good story but utter character destruction of Victor as a child molesting perv without saying the Viki is and always was totally mentally unstable.
Sometimes they need to just let sleeping dogs lie, you know?
RC did undo the so-called Victor resurrection, without drudging it up too much (an approach I totally understand). Viki & Dorian's wine cellar conversation last summer discussed the probability that the ''Victor'' of 5 years ago was an imposter enlisted by Mitch, as part of his revenge scheme.
I figure, enough said. He's dead, anyway.
