Despite the risks against him, my Westie, Ollie came through his surgery with flying colors. He came home very groggy and in quite a bit of discomfort - stitches on his behind where a growth was removed, staples for his neuter, and sore gums after his dental! Good news is that he didn't require any tooth extractions.
The first few days were a little rough. He hates wearing his cone and kept me up most of the first couple of nights because of it. Now I only make him wear it when I'm not there to supervise.
He's doing fantastic and hasn't been this energetic and peppy in at least 4 years! He's been a total sweetheart about taking his meds, and he goes in for a recheck tomorrow morning to make sure things are healing well.
Thanks to everyone that sent their good wishes and said prayers for him! Whatever you did, did the trick! Thank you!!!!
