I had mentioned before that my middle child applied for a paid teacher's assistantship while she got her masters degree at U of Colorado, Boulder. She flew out there about a month ago, heard she was at least accepted into the grad school academically, but hadn't heard anything for several weeks regarding the paid position. She was not going to go if she had to pay 28K a year to get her masters. So, in the meantime she just assumed she'd stay in the Chicago area and has started house hunting.
Today she's contacted and offered the paid position. Two years free tuition plus a stipend for living expenses. I mean it's good. She's excited and flattered, but she was also jazzed about staying in Chicago with all her friends, and buying her own place.
Anyone remember what it was like to be in your mid twenties, single and the world is your oyster? Man, to have the choices she has! She's all uptight now and doesn't know what to do...keep the great job she has, near all her college friends and boyfriend and then buy a house? OR get 2 years free education at a great school for her major, move across the country and get all new experiences, meet new friends and be on her way to (I think) her dream of getting a doctorate and teaching at the college level some day.
Either way, she's golden, in my opinion. But I'm glad I don't have to make the decision! She's got a month to get back to the school.

Message: Congratulations Jam! and Q. that is indeed great news. I wish you the very best whatever, you decided.
Golly it would be hard to decide, if you stay where you are you may always regret you passed up the opportunity and then if you do go you may always regret you did.
wow I want to wish you the very best May God guide you and take care of you.

How wonderful for her! Not an easy decision to make, but whatever she chooses will be great! Awesome!
Funny, when I was in my mid-twenties, I had been married 3 years and was having my first baby...ha! I guess I had all my excitement during the romance/engagement period of my late teens! :)
Let us know what she decides! You must be very proud!!!
