Topic: Speaking of flowers...

Additional Comments: I went for my annual flower hunt yesterday. I got some wave petunias, geraniums and some verbenas. I found something unusual this time. A flower that actually had a scent! It smells wonderful! I bought 2 and went back today and bought six more! I'm making planters up for my daughter and DIL for Mom's day. Beside lilacs some roses and hyacinths there aren't that many that I know of that smell.

We usually wait until Memorial Day here in PA to plant, but I've noticed that lots of people already planted annuals.  We could still have another frost!

I bought a bunch of seeds that I need to plant. The only flowers I've bought so far are a few pots of mini pink roses and some apricot flowers in hanging baskets (I always forget what they're called!)

I bought Hyacinths for that very reason. I planted a bunch of bulbs that are supposed to come up soon but so far, nothing. One of them is advertised as having a strong scent, so we'll see. I have a feeling the squirrels might have dug up some of the bulbs. We can't plant annuals yet, it's still a bit too early so I've been avoiding garden centres like the plague. Most of them are selling baskets because they can be brought in if there is danger of frost, or pansies which I don't bother with.

  • Bauer) I love pansies! I actually had some come up this year that I didn't even plant!
