Yikes. Haven't heard that! I just linked the Daily Camera to my "favorites list" so I can keep up with what's going on --- the stuff she's NOT telling me! I have to say she's gotten quite a giggle out of the liberal hippie lifestyle out there. She told me about the pot sit in they have on the campus every April, and she said she missed the nude bike ride through town a few weeks ago.
She's been riding her bike, fully clothed of course, a lot as she explores the area. She's taking a cooking class every Monday night. Her boyfriend moved down 2 weeks ago. He's sharing a house with two others in Denver, so they'll be about 40 minutes apart. He's looking for a job in architecture but is enjoying having time off for the moment. The past 2 years he worked non stop for a large firm in Chicago, so this is his first "vacation" in a while. He apparently summered in the Denver/Boulder area most of his life and was a camp counselor at the "Y" camp in Estes Park. So he has lots of friends still in the area that he's reconnecting with. This opens up Jam's world as well. She has hiked with a group of girls in their 20s that she found on CraigsList, and she's toying with the idea of playing women's rugby again, much to my dismay. I think she forgets how many times she called us from an emergency room with swollen knees, sore ankles, etc. She and the BF are going to a concert at Red Rocks in a few weeks. They also ventured out to Telluride for a bluegrass thing that I understand was very fun. So she's certainly getting a taste of Colorado. That was her intention - to move someplace very different and truly experience it for the two years she's getting her masters. So far, so good - although classes haven't started yet, nor has her obligation to teach the undergrads 10 hours a week! That could change everything!
So that's the "Jam Goes To Colorado" update. Thanks for checking in!
