Additional Comments: I know you readers understand. This has been harder than I thought.I miss the faces of the actors I saw everyday. I cannot find another soap opera to watch that comes close . I miss the bit of time I took daily for myself all these years.I cannot escape the real world the way I did with GL.I wonder how l the crew and actors who are out of work are coping. Thanks for letting me rant.

Message: I miss GL, too. Nothing compares to it. I watch the other CBS soaps, but it is not the same. There is just no other soap that could take it's place.

Message: About every other day, I remind myself to record GL. Then I remember, there is no Guiding Light. I read somewhere that if you have the same profession for years, then you retire, that you will dream about the job for many years because it was so much a part of your life. I wonder how long it will take for me to stop reminding myself that the show is not on. Sad.

I have a big hole in my life - I know, some people might say, "Come on, it was only a soap opera." But all of you understand that it wasn't just a show to us - it was our family.
GL always aired here at 2:00 p.m., and many times in the last few weeks, I have caught myself wondering what is going to happen on the show today - and then I remember there is no show today.
I have tried to watch other soap operas, but can't get interested. Soap Opera Digest keeps calling, asking me to renew, but I told them no, that Guiding Light was all I watched.

It saddens more and more each time I think about it!
I have finally been trying to get into another soap, but nothing has stuck as of yet, and I don't feel comfortable yet posting on another show's forum to talk about all the things I don't like, because I thought it was rude when other people came on this forum from other shows to complain about GL!
Anyway, I don't understand the complaints people have had about GL. Yes, it went downhill, but in my opinion, even in the last 2 years, it was MUCH better than pretty much every soap that's on the air right now! Yes, some shows have some good actors (and, of course, each soap has some previous GL actors), but there are some REALLY bad actors and writing on other soaps. I never felt with GL that I was wasting my time. I was invested in the characters, actors, and the storylines.
Miss GL SO MUCH!!!!!!!!

Message: Carrot, I know what you mean. I can't tell you how much me and my mom and sister miss GL. It was something that kept us bonded. And now we can't talk about the Spauldings, or Coopers, or what Reva is up to. I will NEVER watch General Hospital, it makes me ill. And certainly not Let's Make a Deal. At 2 pm now, I find myself just at the computer watching stuff on Hulu or Youtube. :(

Message: I understand as well. I have tried to get into General Hospital which is at the same time slot, but it is very hard to do. I just don't care about the characters on that soap. They should have just cut GL to one half hour and let is go on.

Carrott - I totally agree. I miss GL very much and I can't even get into another soap. They just don't interest me in the way that GL did. I miss the show and characters very much!
