Topic: the writers (question and comment)

Additional Comments:

I was reading that David Kreizman has been headwriter from July 2004 to February 29, 2008, then from April 14 to present. I assume the gap is because of the writer's strike.

I assume also then, that everything we're seeing now is from whoever was writing the show during the strike. I wonder when his shows will start again since they prepare things weeks in advance.

Also, I read that James E Reilley is unemployed because of Passions being over. He was one of the head writers during GL's so-called "golden days" in the early 90's. Would people be up for him being head writer again at GL? I imagine GL couldn't afford him, but just a thought.

The days of JERk being far down on the totem pole of writers is long behind him.  I wouldn't wish him being inflicted on ANY soap.  At least Passions was his baby from beginning to end.  He did more damage to every soap he was ever affiliated with than I want to remember, much less revisit.

I also doubt, seriously, if JERk would 'share' HW chores again either.

I believe when James Reily was writing for GL, he was one of three headwriters.  I remember seeing his name, and I believe Nancy Curlee & Stephen Demorest listed as headwriters.  I don't think I'd like Reily as the sole headwriter.  His work tends to be too out there.

Those dates refer to airdates - I'm not sure if they're exactly accurate, but it was during those weeks that the writer credits vanished/reappeared.

The strike ran from 11/5/07 to 2/12/08.

In common between Kreizman's material and the temporary scab stuff that aired between February and April... none of it is any good.

  • It must have been SO frustrating for DK to not be able to write with the whole change over of the show after Feb29. I'm hoping GL gets better now that we're seeing his stuff again. Tuesday, May 6 was awesome. (Matt & Vanessa fan)

Looking at the credits at the end of the show, I see Kreizman's name back, so YES, it looks like we are seeing his work again. GL's writers prepared so far in advance to the strike, that we didn't see as much of the scabs work as other soaps, a few weeks maybe? As for Reilly, I don't think he would come back, but on his Passions staff there are LOTS of past GL writers, I wouldn't mind some of them coming back, if they are done smoking the crack they must have been on to come up with what they did on that show (a hermaphrodite having his/her father's child anyone?).
