Additional Comments: Philip's absence should be explained that he was saved by his real father, Dr. Justin Marler. Show him with Justin in like California. recuperated, ready to take on the Spauldings. Maybe Justin can return with him to Springfield, even briefly. Philip has finally taken the name Philip Marler. The whole subject of his being stolen as a baby should explain his breakdown. This new Philip is determined to do one thing-- take down Alan, regain Beth and Lizzie and James. If there were ever a story to wrap up Guiding Light, this is it.

Message: Really, just please tell this one story and wrap up the show. The rest of it doesn't matter. Altho Reva dying in child birth might be good too. Billy and Vanessa reuniting. See Fletcher and Holly reunite with an adult Meg. That sort of thing. Little vignettes of people we cared about who the producers destroyed to punish the viewers and kill the show. Maybe OLTL would let Jerry VerDorn return for a week and reunite with Blake at the end. I'm circling Mar 31 09 as the end. Ellen Wheeler, you're going to be unemployed! Congrats hon!

You are right, Judge. A story focused on Phillip, and how he gets his life back, would be a really strong way to wrap up GL. Rick could be a central part of the story, providing a meaningful "Bauer Presence" to the final big story arc.
I will miss GL a lot when it's gone, but now that GA is returning, there are so many ways they could have a GL ending that is worthy of the show's amazing run. For me, it's way more important for the show to end WELL, than to stay on one more year. The best possibility for a strong ending is if GL ends in 2009. By 2010, there will be one more year of FURTHER budget cuts, cast defections, and overall diminishment of the show. Here's to a dignified, emotional finale in 2009.
